Here is a CSX double stack pulled by 4 different types of engines. The C44 is the latest addition, and is custom painted by Tim. I love to collect models made by master modellist.
David, the C44 decals were custom made by Tim. Do you want to use those instead. Tim made two extra sets for me.
Great looking CSX stuff! Really cool to follow your progress in one thread. I am in Margate (south Florida), modeling CSX in N scale. How large is the layout?
Boy John your motive power keeps growing and looks great! You should take a picture of your entire loco fleet! didn't we once had a thread on that very topic? Maybe we should re-visit that idea.
Yes, I remember that topic Joe! The good old days huh? I did not have any SD70's or GP35's back then. I also gave away some of my GP's in trade for painting of my passenger cars, I sold my AZL Seattle Sounder with 2 locos, and I gave Grandpa a GP35 and a Steamer, so I probably have about the same amount of locos as before.
Shawn, my layout is about 6 X 3, so its not all that big, but its big enought to run my double stack. Joe, Robert, I remember those treads also. Why there was whole bunch of us( 3 or 4) in those old treads. I used to drool looking at those AZLs, so I knew I had to get some. Joe, I like your Idea of restarting those old treads, because I still find those old treads very interesting.
Boy it does feel like the old days with those old topics. It used to be so cool to see all the different loco's that everyone had. I might have to take a picture of mine (which hasn't increased that much) just to start it again.
John, I LOVE the photo! Your CSX roster looks great. The C44 is a nice addition. Tim, good job on the repaint! Now, you need a dark future SD70. I can't for these to be released (not that I am saying they will be released) ;-) Rob
Robert, sometimes I like go back, and go through the earliest treads, and see names that we no longer see like Bc rail king and Kilroy. I wonder if they are still in z, or they move to other scales. I also see that most of the earlier treads are seen by our new members. I hope some of you do go back, and look through them. Some of Robert's threads are just as good as the ones he is posting today. Lets get back to CSX z trains. I want to show Tim's great work. It's more then I hope for. I love the detailing that Tim added to the C44. It really shows the detail of the engine. Maybe its because of the light coat of paint on top of a strip shell. Come to think of it. Tim, I am sending you another AZL for stipping. LOL
Thanks George. I plan to have 7 different types of engines in CSX colors. Rob, you did say the SD 70 in new image blue is coming out for Chrismas? Right?
John, Christmas.... what year? LOL! BUT, we may have an annoucement very soon. Tim, prepare to be happy. Rob
Hey, I'm happy too. At least I don't have three more SD70s to buy before the end of the year........... Unfortunately, there is still plenty available to drain my finances....... And I know the coalporters are imminent.........in all my roadnames....... I wish I had a rich uncle.
Bryan, Are you sure there are not three more SD70s to buy before the end of the year? Stay tuned. All will be known very soon. Did I mention a very happy Tim? Rob
Bryan, I guess I will just to to strip them, and paint them into CSX colors. I want to know what Tim do to get Rob and Joe to get them to make his color scheme. Tim dont hold back on your secrets. LOL.
I meant three more that I won't be buying, at least not right away.....:shade: Now, if CSX is a happy replacement for the ones I'm already aware of, all the better. I'll have to raid the savings account, I guess. Keep 'em coming!!!
I have been emailing and posting messages to Joe and Rob about having a BNSF something or More for nearly a year! Yes, since about January of this year! BNSF!!!!! Hobo Tim
