Currently on the workbench is the newest critter from Japan that just arrived an hour ago. The little track M of W vehicle. The one that runs on 4.5 volts max. that made me install a volt meter on the power pack and a throttle limiter.

Shown here with one of my speeders and a 44 tonner

It came with a small sprue of parts under the foam. Tow hooks and I think spot lights. Forget about DCC not enough room. It is possible to fit a T shank coupler on this and unimates come to mind.

On 05/01/2022, I posted picture of my workbench, actually an oven cookie sheet with my latest project. IT is a KATO SD90 I painted in Progress Rail (Caterpillar) colors. waiting for a decoder, which came in Monday.

    2.
You have seen another project, an SP GS-1 bash using a J Class chassis and a "superturbine" boiler/tender casting. I was waiting for a chassis part to come in, and it has. Thanks to "Alister" for the very kind gift. I can now proceed.

    3.
Another project with a Bman EM-1 chassis and "superturbine" casting for an SP AC-9. Again i was waiting for parts from B'man, which have arrived so I can re-start this project.

    4.
Now a new project that I have just started. I will post progress in a build thread later.
I am bashing an EM-1 into a Cabforward. This will not be an SP version but rather a home road back shops build or conversion.
So you guys get ready to open your wallets because as soon as I complete this DIY project some manufacturer will announce a new build for them.

Ohhh, Moose is breaking out the popped-corn for this one! :)

    The MT&P has had plans to convert a Bachmann 2-6-6-2 into a fictional ex-SP 2-6-6-2 MM-2. Never thought of converting the EM-1 into a 4-6-6-2 MM-2. o_O

Going to install the detail pieces for this Ulmer Spatz RDC which are mu hoses and non-functioning but scale couplers. I've got the MFX sound decoder programmed for my tastes. Downside here is that there is not a lot of speed adjustment CVs such as doing speed tables or mid-range unless I can find a more descriptive manual other than what came with this. Good news is that after setting the acceleration, deceleration rates and start/max speeds this thing runs super smooth. Crawling is unbelievable with about 8 seconds tie to tie and if one listens closely the motor steadily churns so no herky jerky.

Since this will be ran by itself I don't have to be concerned with speed tables.

Tons of sound and lighting functions using up to F30. One of the functions turns on the bathroom light (window with drawn shade in pic below) and then a sound of a flushing toilet lol.

The Turtle Creek Central Railroad that is based on San Juan Island has some unique equipment cobbled together in their shops. Sometimes a Pacific storm blows in and knocks power out for days at a time and the fleet of Hep power cars and the power car set are called in the provide power where needed. The main car is home to a oil fired steam boiler which is the power for a big generator. A short car contains water and oil tanks plus tools and is lashed to the boiler end of the car. On the generator end is a two axle short transformer car hooked to the generator end of the main car. A 40 foot old caboose was converted as the main car while the oil and water and tool car was scratch built. The short transformer car is built on a Peco two axle under frame.

A Detail Associates metal steam boiler drives some 4-4-0 cylinders which in turn through gearing turn the generator. The dome of the steam boiler comes up under the former caboose cupola which is open to get rid of the heat. Safety valves and a whistle are on the cupola roof.

For the last scenic item added to the scene were two foot bridges.

And do a little more trimming of the reeds.

Tracks back in place time for the mine to resume mining, processing, and shipping Moly ore.

And the new car shop is in business.
