I just was finishing up reading the April UMTRR from our friend George and saw the info on the scheduled October release of some orange CSXT 89' MOW Flats. They do look cool and I saw some of these back on Feb. 18th 2022. Here are the shots in case anyone wants to compare to the cool looking MTL artwork, None are bingo shots but are in the same number series. CSXT 920750 CSXT 920735 CSXT 920710 CSXT 920723 Enjoy! and yes, I know I'm about a month behind on my reading.
Forgot to add the image from M/T to compare Think I will look at adding this set to the collection when it comes out
I'll put a post it note on the workbench to remind me sir and thank you for continuing to encourage my bad habits
The present iteration my the layout (effectively, just staging) has a necessarily 9 3/4 inch radius turnback curve... but it's in a tunnel. I've already found out that shorter equipment than 89 foot flat cars can't get through, so I won't try with the ones I have. Also... no autoracks This curve won't be in regular use once I get more tracklaying done... which is preceded by more "benchwork"... ah, phooey. Thanks for sharing the photos!
Those are very nice cars! I'm going to hold out on other roadnames, though, as I model the desert southwest. I used to see plenty of them at work, but I can't for the life of me remember their reporting marks.
From the April UMTRR: "The bingo photo for CSXT 920737, taken in October 2013 and posted to RRPictureArchives includes this “User Text”: ex-SPSX 192198 exx-RVPR 192198 exxx-FCCM 192198 exxxx-SOO 54885 nee-TM 400236.” In other words, these cars got around before landing with CSX." I'm thinking you might have seen them with SPSX reporting marks out west.
