Won't make it this year, but Colleen and I went last year and really enjoyed it. Oh, rats, I was supposed to post some photos wasn't I...

There was no, zero, zip, nada anything other than N Scale at the entire venue. Both buildings!

And the good news continues. The Altoona (Altoona, PA) N scale Weekend is also back for 2022. This year it will be held at the Blair County Convention Center, which is located in Altoona, PA, the weekend of Sep 17-18, 2022. This is probably the best venue the show ever had.

If I were a better person, I'd suggest something absurd like 'we should all wear pink longsleeved turtlenecks so we can recognize TB members' and then show up in jeans and a flannel just to sit back watch the show :sneaky: but I won't.

...on a similarly devious note (translation: this post has triggered another of my signature adult-ADHD moments), when my mother graduated from Ohio State in the 90s at the Horseshoe, there was something like 2k graduates from the School of Education. For their class prank, each student handed the Dean a marble as they got their diploma. I was too far away to see anything, but always loved that story, imagining who got to clean up that pile behind the podium lol

It might be fun to figure out a sub rosa way to identify Trainboard folkses in the crowd, though.

How about a hat. I have one that states I'm a "VietNam Veteran" with a flag on the brim. Our's could have railroad tracks and be multi colored.

Heading your way! If you see an ugly feller in an obnoxiously bright golf shirt and an OSU hat, stop and say hi :p

We went on Saturday, lots of cars and locomotives to choose from by various vendors. The 3D printed equipment in the second building was amazing. Sure is going to fill a much needed void. Turnout seemed a little light hopefully Sunday gets better.

I was at the show on Saturday morning and spend some time over at the Burning River table. The 3D printed vehicles were very well done. I was tempted to pick up a dozer, but everything seemed a little too new for my era.

Overall, it was a nice show with a good balance of layouts and vendors. Spend some time talking with a couple of guys about their layouts.

Couldn't go but I think I would find the Burning River models a bit too new as well.
