I think we'd all contribute if you wanted to stop en route at Ace Hardware to buy one of these before entering the show.
I wonder if some body has ever motorized the locos and made runners out of the cars. My best use for these would be at the bottom of a trestle all smashed up.
One of the SP gondolas came as a throw-in with a lot of Actual N Scale Items. I used the canisters on my HO (what?!?) switching layout and the rest of the item was, ahem, er, disposed of.
I believe I put MT trucks on a Readers Disgust gondola and maybe a flat (they came is a lot of cars I once bought YEARS ago). As I recall, it wasn't an east install (there are pins holding the stock trucks straight?) and they still didn't run worth a darn and so they were sent to heaven.
So my idea about using them to simulate a wreck at the base of a trestle by beating them up and maybe torching a few cars since they are not good for squat holds water then. Hmm new Ebay sales ploy, instant train wreck, only tools needed are a 3 pound hammer and a propane torch.
WOW! That was like having the wind knocked out of me! I saw Jim at several shows and talked with him a good bit. I am originally from Butler PA and lived in Johnstown when I was a kid so we had some things in common. Seemed like a great guy! I loved that layout and it was a heavy influence on the design of my N scale layout. I had no idea he was sick.
https://www.ebay.com/itm/284819917532 I mean, ok, it's plenty unique, buuuuuuut.... and for a thousand+??
Yeah, that's creepy. With all of the violence in this world, I've never found skulls to be even remotely amusing on anything.
Vintage N Scale Train Cars and Accessory lot | eBay Wonder what this seller is thinking on the $. And there is no " MAKE OFFER " here. Also I say if seller states the buyer to Calculate for postage, I don't know how many of us actually want to calculate the Postage especially when they have been out of School for how long?! and possibly forgotten their knowledge of Arithmetic . Though the Link is added , I believe a picture worth more ! Tom
