That George, he can talk your ear off. I had to glue mine back on with Zap-a-gap. (n)(y) LOL

Good to talk to another old person who is young at heart. We can learn a lot from each other.

We finally wound things up and still had much to talk about. Like it's been two weeks since my last eye surgery and my vision is coming back. Oh No !! I can see the layout again. No more excuses. Time to dig in, chase the cats off, clean her up, add the top back on and get trains running.

Lot's of ideas :coffee::eek: !! More track needed. There goes my budget .

Nice layout George ;). I liked the name of the layout before I learned what it really stands for. :ROFLMAO::rolleyes::p Sorry, can't share that here.

Wish mine was as far along, as his is.

    More talk later.

Made it through Father's Day without any extra kids showing up. You know the ones I don't know about. Sigh!

Today, what about today? What are we going to do?

    Nothing! Would be nice.

Looking back at another discussion on another thread. Peco Flex Track, which I don't use on my layouts. Antiquated or not. I prefer Atlas code 80 flex track. I still have pizza cutter flanged wheel sets. Operating on a minimal budget.

Bubba, or Mr. Boots one of the few cats that returned. A Long come back story. Is helping me by blocking my view of the computer screen. He won't stay long. He's good. There he goes.

The Layout the ever present nagging, get me finished layut. Right now, I need to get the layout cleaned up and the Environmental Build Up on the rails and layout removed. EBU is how we refer to dirt build up in professional cleaning circles. You can adopt it or not. I don't really care. But, that's how you'll hear me refer to it, like it or not and you don't have to.

I always get motivated when I start thinking about expanding the layout. I have the room here but for how long. I'm renting and as most of you know that's never a good idea because the land lord can change his mine and you can find yourself sitting out on the curb of the street. As George aptly pointed out. Thinking still thinking.

I need to tend to household chores. Get the other pop-up. put-up out on the back yard slab.

Yes, George I have to many stories to tell and they all take to long to tell.:ROFLMAO:

You all have a good week.:coffee::coffee::coffee:

Long stories do seem to come with old age. My two daughters never showed.

Actually the second sentence was in reference to what was the big discuss on Sunday. 37 & 51 year old daughters. :(
It is the 7 younger brothers children and grandchildren that find our stories "BORING".

Boring stories. Speaking of boring. Here it comes.

I thought I was about to wrap things up as in finalized. I thought Diabetes had caught up with me and I was going blind. A visit to a specialist and then another. Well, I can cut to the chase. Five eye surgeries or procedures later and I almost have my old vision back. I have light sensitivity, not good. Still some blurring in the right eye but appears to be getting better every day.

Now you know why there's been very little progress on the H&P, The Williams and Ashfork division. Got to love the old Santa Fe that used to run through Ashfork. Then they pulled a model railroaders trick and moved the mainline. What? They did.!!

Well, I may get my first company since moving to Idaho. Now before I go further. Let me say about moving to Idaho. Big mistake! But that's another story for another time. I've bored you long enough with this ongoing layout rebuild saga.

Hopefully, George and his wife will be able to stop by on their vacation to laugh at my mess. Shot, no don't do that. George and his wife, they could drive their layout up here and it wouldn't damage it. Not so with me. Bad boy, bad boy. What you going to do when the NMRA Ninja's show-up?

The good news. I've started back-up working on the layout. Wiring of course. The track work will be yet another project. It will take time and lot's of it... to get'r all back together. And, it's something I need to do, all by myself. Harrrumph!!

    Stay tuned.

You do remember that if there is no picture of George and wife and you in your layout room, it didn't happen!

My best friend has a good response to seeing all the nice layouts and modeling I show him. Calls it "train-porn!" 'Cause it makes you want 'that' and feel inadequate!! :ROFLMAO::LOL: So the 'brothel' is a very good term!! :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

    Brothel?? Aiiyiiyii !!!

I need to get the Mini-city out so George and Wife can get a picture of the "Brothel".

If by chance George and his Wife actually get here. Be assured, I will post it as headlines. I keep thinking of her Party Train. I hope she brings her Brothel Train Err-uh "Party Train".

That may not work. I'm still Analog DC and I think George's layout is DCC. Lucky guy! I could get one of my sets of F types to pull her train.

Thanks for the comebacks "To Funny"!! Thanks for the likes. Tomorrow, after I clean the carpet. It will be MOW Maintainer time on the layout.

Brothel?? My bad, I guess. I ended up with a double post. Oop's.

Deacon, Thanks for comments on vision. Good to have everything working almost as good as new.

With the layout in mind, I do have a vision of what it will look like when it's finished.

    Thanks again everyone.

Looks like I'm going to have to build my own party train and have my own F units pull it around what's left of my layout. Sigh.

Well, work has started. Wiring and clean up. I've got to do something about the bright sunlight as it's blinding me during the daylight hours.

    Work on the layout progresses!

One of the things about having a antiquated train layout such as mine is you need a place to cut the wood you will be using for curves, yards and replacement parts. Emphasis on replacement parts.

You might remember this picture and the snow damage. Major set back among other things that happened. Snow like this in Nampa, ID? According to the locals they've gotten more then this in the past. Where it has snowed or rained before it will do it again. Cyclic that way.

    Aiiyiiyii !!

I looked around and visited Harbor Freight, Epay, Lowe's and Home Depot and finally came up with some pop-ups. Criteria, easy to put up and take down.

    DSCF1910.JPG
One isn't going to get'er done.

    DSCF1911.JPG

As you can see I have my work bench, miter saw and table saw set-up. My lumber pile isn't to far away. Time to cut out, notch and make some risers. Cut out some curved sections, bridge supports. Why does this all sound like work?

I know, not as nice as what I had before but that didn't last very long. Sigh!
Now we are in good shape to get some things done.

Did you ask about the layout? Makes for a great cat hang-out.

It's clean up time. Cat hair, soda spills, chocolate cake crumbs (at least I hope that's chocolate cake crumbs) and all the farmers dust, dirt and then the fire smoke to clean-up.

    Here is the last addition:
    DSCF1905.JPG
Yes the layout is a mess.

    How the TV was installed.
    DSCF1903.JPG
It's not a Smart TV. But then I don't like things that are smarter then I am.
Getting to old for this smarter then me sh.. ....well...they don't like me to use expletives like that.

    More to come.
Thanks for the likes, tuning in to keep up with all this.
Look at the fun we are having.
