Nice bridge! Went to the Guthrie County (IA) museum yesterday. They have a wonderfully restored UP Pullman and Milw depot. So, I did walk through video's,

Very nice Pullman and restored depot! They've done a great job keeping the history alive there with all those artifacts and railroad stuff!

    Now that's Pullman luxury.:)

A beautiful restoration of Panora depot. Good to see such a rich history preserved, with a nice period touch.

Nice photo angle. Cool how both trains snake off in the distance on the right side of the frame. :)

First thing I saw after seeing the CN logo was the road number. Back in the day, the 2300s were used for CN's MLW M-636 locos.

Is that the sand pile in the background? It seems to be looking for something empty to fill.

Sitting in the Alabama Southern yard in Tuscaloosa AL yesterday evening 7/22/22. The tree branches on top of the radiators are a nice touch.

It's a very valid excuse. The train is bigger and noisier - what red-blooded railfan could resist?:)

Keen eyes--that is the Gravel Products, Inc. Minot pit you see. A sprawling complex of various grades of aggregates that serves a wide area around Minot. I think the frac sand comes from Wisconsin.
Thanks for the kind words. Pedestrian overpasses are great photo perches.

I've seen the CofG heritage unit only once, tied down at an absolutely terrible spot for photography. [11/10/2013, Columbia, SC]

Fortunately, I have good pictures of the other SOU legacy units, SOU, INT and NS.

We spent time yesterday chasing trains on the UP at Jefferson, IA and Boone. We hiked up over the stone bridge and caught this autorack eastbound. Even got a wave.

From 42 years ago in July 1980 at Bennington Curve on the PRR's eastern slope, an eastbound CR freight eases downgrade toward Altoona. That four track main will soon be reduced to three. This is the curve where the Red Arrow wrecked from excessive speed in 1947 when the engine crew lost awareness of their location in a dense fog.

Another shot near Bennington on the same weekend has SD-45s in helper service. The PRR called helpers "Snappers".
