My medium (typical) upright piano is about 5 feet wide, 55 inches tall, and 27 inches deep.

The Boys were moving a little automatic piano. Remember the ones with punched paper rolls?

At the end, where they have it unpacked and everything, playing "Turkey in the Straw", it appears to be about the size of my piano, which is a relatively small upright, not one of those huge concert uprights on which I sometimes took lessons when I was a kid.

It was a pretty tough player piano, having been subject to clattering down all those steps several times and dunked in water!

BTW, my piano was manufactured in 1910 so it was 22 years old at the time "The Music Box" was made.

Yup, if we assume those boards on the crate are 3 -4 inches wide, the height is very close to what my piano is and other mid-size uprights. It's not a console or even smaller spinet. I know there was no real piano in there but the producers probably wanted the crate to appear sized as in real life.

BTW, there is no way two guys could actually even lift a piano like that, let alone up stairs.

This wagon is not an easy kit to build but I'm not giving up. The parts are so small! My piano grate is coming along nicely. I need to sand it more, but it is looking like the crate in the film.

I can relate to that. That's when it's time to shift one's priorities and take care of the important stuff - and people - in one's life.

    Take care.

I believe someone wrote a song about that, back when I was much younger. In my case, it goes something like "To dream the impossible dream...." Who was that? I keep thinking maybe Sinatra. If he was not the first, close to it. Anyhow...........

I have to remember that one!

Similar to one of my favorite sayings, "Those who leave on time will always arrive late".

    Especially in traffic...

Me too. He had a great singing voice.(y)
