Last week I showed a 4-6-2. This week I added a few more wheels on the power. I guess for this weekend I will call this a Troop Train to honor the veterans.
Good morning from cool and rainy Northeast Ohio! Here is this weeks output. Another Athearn Ribbed Side Twin Hopper where I added the Pike Stuff Panels for a panel side hopper of which the Wabash had several thousand. Hauled coal out of southern Illinois and Indiana for use at various power plants. Car was painted with Scalecoat II Black Paint and lettered with Mask Island decals. The last car I did had the small Wabash this one has the later large Wabash. Next is an Intermountain 40' 12 Panel 10'inside height boxcar kit, substituting Yarmouth Models metal sill steps for the kit supplied plastic ones, then painted with Scalecoat II ATSF Mineral Red paint and lettered with Microscale decals. These cars were used during the grain rush in the 50's and then in lumber service the rest of the year. Stewart ALCO C628 and C630 with a long ore drag headed to Pittsburg from Cleveland. Stongsville Railroad Club layout. Thanks for looking! Rick Jesionowski
Last weekend I visited the open house at the South Bay Historical Society (SBHRS) in Santa Clara, CA. Here are a few shots from the HO layout. One thing that caught my eye at the engine terminal was an HO scale model of part of the new Stadler EMU's which are not yet in service. When they are, they will be stopping at the Santa Clara station where this museum is located. I was told that these were a promotional item being given out at an event that Caltrain had. They don't run and that there was only an end car.
I kind of do that on most of my NTRAK module sets. I split those pesty yellow and blue lines off and route them along the back of the modules, only back to standard at either end. That way I can set them up with other clubs at train shows.

It looks like the Saturday morning breakfast rush is dwindling at Collins Diner in Canaan. This is a great spot to start the railfanning day on the Housatonic RR (prototype and N scale version), with the Canaan Wye and the old New Haven/C.N.E. Union Station right across the parking lot.
Thank you. I'll post more photos as I continue to work on it. It has taken years to get to this point, but small projects add up to overall progress.
That's a nice scene! I totally get that. It took me over two years to get to 99% done with my 6x8 foot HO layout. Completely finishing a layout is like approaching the speed of light - each little project gets you that much closer but there's always that little something else to do to get there. And once you do that, there's another little detail to add, and so on. Kinda makes one feel relativistic.
While at the Sebring Model Railroad Club open house, I took a few action shots. Pennsy Steam geys a little diesel help on the grades through the mountains. With all the activity, the roundhouse and engine shops are a beehive of activity. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
