    An old Ford Model A at an Amoco station in 1939. Georgia license plates.

    And the visor over the windshield too. Radiator stone guard, big horse radiator cap--today they'd say it was pimped out.

    They should have saved some money for new tires.

    I wish there was a site where we could see color photos of gas stations in the 1945-1960 era. I got my start in one of those, late 1950's. A cinder block structure, full of the sights and smells of those days. The old hand cranked reset pumps with an internal bell, which at one time had lighted globes atop...

    Quite a ways back I was hosting pictures of friend's first car. Here was probably my favorite with a little about it from the owner ...

    Bob Wagner - This was my first HOT car.. or ? Taken in the summer of '62 in Las Vegas. I had to take my younger brothers for a ride! It would flat fly in dirt but I couldn't take it on the the street, it wasn't licensed, nor was I. It was a flat 4 banger and the pickup bed was welded to the frame. Do you notice all of the safety equipment! What a blast!!!

    That is a WOW!! :love::ROFLMAO::):):):)

    When we were growing up a lot of those kind were build to use on the farm. I've we youngsters could we would shorten the chassis and have more fun.
    For me and some cousins that lead to off road racing in Crandon, Wisconsin. Before they built the race track was built.

    Where is that and what year, about? Is that 55.9 cents a gallon, and I am sure we were complaining about that price, or were we?

    If I filled up (from empty) the '69 Newport I had back in the day, at the highest price it reached up here, that would have cost me nearly $200 Canadian... :eek: Wouldn't have been long and my wallet would have been coughing up dust instead of cash... :cry:
