Good! I use #12 solid for buss and #16 stranded for drop downs. These sound and look like they are a superior product for my situation then typical 'suit case' types. Tnanks Bob.
Posi-Taps are basically designed with stranded wire in mind, although I suppose solid can be made to work, I would be concerned about long-term performance. See http://www.easternbeaver.com/Home/Main/Products/Posi-Lock/Posi-Install/posi-install.html Doug
Using solid copper wire hasn't been an issue at all. Long term performance also hasn't been a problem. Stay cool and run steam.......
It's time to revisit this topic for new members to the world of DCC or those folks who are wiring new layouts. Stay cool and run steam.....
Interesting? I have not gotten to the wire up stage of my layout yet but will look around to see if Posi-taps have reached this part of the world. Cheers, Ken.
These truly are awesome. I am planning on using these on the Canton Division. Thanks again Bob for sharing this info.
Have fun Matt: You'll find the green Posi-Tap connectors at Walmart. If you want the black connector, you can order it directly from the company. Stay cool and run steam....
I thought I would bring up this thread for those folks who are ready to wire a layout and want an alternative to soldering feeders to common bus lines. Have fun.....
