While I was out on my 20 mile bike ride this morning both of those songs were rolling around in my head at one time or another. I kind of keep a cadence with my peddling set to music.

Of course "City of New Orleans" by Arlo Guthrie and "I Like Trains" by Fred Eaglesmith. I had a chance to help my son do sound for one of Fred Eaglesmith's concerts in Ft Worth. He does quite a few train songs. He also does a concert swing through narrow gauge territory in Colorado when on tour.

"Two Trains Runnin'" by the Blues Project is a bit obscure. "White Room" by Cream has the line "restless diesel," which paints a great scene with just two words.

Train train by Blackfoot is a GREAT one! Followed by Hank Snow Movin on,Golden Rocket, and others.

FFV is a favorite of mine,Wreck of the ole 97, Casey Jones Grateful dead ( however I have never been high on cocaine while running thank you very much)

I had an album of railroad songs from the Smithsonian I think it was? Train 45 was the first song adn thats a great old classic.

Need some of these for an ipod....but not on the train ;)

I Sell a Lot of "Good and Plenty"

Sooooooooooo, "Choo Choo Charlie, was an engineer, Choo choo Charlie really rings a bell".
Ok, not my fav but, runs through my head a lot at work. A few of my customers won't admit to knowing what I am talking about. :)

Ok, who can tell me what song refers to:
    2:10, 6:18, 10:44?
    Without looking it up?
I have to admit that is in an off way my favortite.

Me, I'm more partial to Charlie Daniels' Orange Blossom Special. He also did one called Midnight Train about a train robbery, which is a fun one.
