Price Wise! Don, I can't say as of yet what the exact price will be! Hah!!! That sounds like MTL and AZL when they are getting close to a new release! Well, I don't wanna sound like them so! I will say this much! Unless someone wants the pieces to build them selves, the 20' Tank-tainers will be around the same price as the 53' containers I use to make! I'd say between $5-$8 each! I now have 2 slightly different versions. I hope to have about 4-5 versions by the time I actually start making these! Try to make the majority that is on the roads. So far I count about 4-5 main versions. Cross your fingers! I'll post the possible logo's I will create soon! have to finish what I am working on right now! "Jurg, I am nearing completion on the Containers, and will be applying next coat of paint to the SD40-2 tommorrow or Monday!" "John, I will be applying the next coat of paint to your C44-9 tomorrow or Monday also." "Mi-Jack RTR's will be worked on all next week for possible completion by next weekend! Cross your fingers!" "Jeffrey White, starting on the 38' double spine cars and the containers soon! Repaints and decals also!" Ok, if I left you out, believe me, I am working on it! Hobo Tim
I donn't mind assembling mine if you can get it down to 25 cents for ten kits..... It looks as if I can weather these with no problem after they are assembled and decaled so if you end up in the $5 to $6 range I'd probably like a couple of each variation. ..don
Mi-Jack RTR Progress! Just a few photos to show progress has the RTR Mi-Jacks near completion! Jim Manley, John Mui, Bryan Keyser, Fred Ladd and Deane Sheppard, These are your Mi-Jacks! Touch up, detail paint, decals, & flat clear coat to completion! Hobo Tim
Tim, if it is not too much trouble, can you make it do this. http://www.walthers.com/exec/productinfo/322-89001
No Prob! If I make one, that is just it, I'll make only ONE! It's alot bigger than a Mi-Jack and should be easier to work with. Even to motorize it. Will I make one? not right now! Maybe in a year or two! Have my inland Intermodal Yard to build first! By the way, anyone here want to spend $500 USD on one of these in Z scale? Let me know! Might build one sooner than I think! :teeth: Hobo Tim
Got my MYJACK yesterday!! I got mine did you get yours yet Kez?? The detailing is excellent. and the craftsmanship superb. some of the brass railings are hair thin-- I'm glad I ordered a RTR unit as I doubt I could deal with all the fine detailing. TIM really did it right on this unit. Too bad they can't be massed produced. Best, Fred
Yes, I got mine yesterday, and I was tempted to take today off from work just so I could stay home and play with it. Unfortunately(?), Tim also had something else for me in the package, so I HAD to come to work and make more MONEY!! Thanks for the Stealth, Tim! I agree with everything Fred said. These are beautiful. I feel very fortunate to own one. I hope to have some pictures up by the weekend, so I can show off ANOTHER shipment that I just received.......... Tim, you rule!
Tim is busy assembling the brass. He even did that for the unassembled kits, which made assembly "easy" even for us "all thumbs" ...don
John, you'r funny! I think I buy some more AZL CSX Diesels and repaint them in SP or UP just for fun. (joke)
John, how far is Pembroke Pines from Miami (with car)? It's 90% sure that I've visit Florida next spring.
Jurg, its 35 to 45 minutes. It depends if you follow the speed limit. Most people is South Florida dont. Most of them think they are in a Autobahn.
Jurg, let me know in advance so we can hook up. In South Florida, the only thing smaller then a z scale train is a bikini in South Beach.
Hey, this sounds like the making of a Z scalers trip to Miami for a get together... What does everyone else think? Not sure if members have discussed this before but I think it would be great if we could talk some of the resident detailing and mod experts to bring some live samples of their work and possibly put on some short clinics for us. If you guys are interested someone start a new thread and we'll start a tally. In fact, I'll organize the event if there is interest.
