It's been a bit of a dry spell, but I finally just made a trade. Yippee! How is everyone else doing? Anyone found a new source for a swap? Boxcab E50
Alright, so here's the scoop on me. Been lurking in here for some time. I designed HO&N's passes back in August I believe it was, for the Half-Moon Orion & Northern. Well, with them moved as a backstory and that layout now canned, It don't seem practical to me that the HO&N's passes be sent out. So now, passes for the CMPA will be sdesigned. However, I still don't kn ow that they'll get sent out, since any hopes of a layout are still years (plural) away. But for your viewing pleasure, here's the voided HO&N rail and e-rail passes, sized to business-card standards. (Vista Print for any paper versions) Can you spot the dfference?
Go ahead and send them out. Many a layout with passes planned was never built, never completed or scrapped. Many people have traded a pass for their vapor railroad- It doesn't matter. Boxcab E50
I've picked up one or two, in the past 7-8 months. It's been slow. But passes are still out there. Boxcab E50
I've got in 2010 four pass requests. And three requests for e-rail passes. BTW, if anyone is interested, here's my address: Wolfgang Dudler WESTPORT TERMINAL RR Esserstr. 3 58640 Iserlohn GERMANY You find it at my website too. Wolfgang
I need to pick your guy's brains on Pass production. I was planning to print mine on Avery paper, but when I try to print on the HP 6088, the margins are WAYYYY off. But it comes out fine on the 1320 (which is B/W only) and the 950 (which is out of ink & not on the network). A new cartridge may become the solution, but I'd really like to figure out the 1688. I did these in Publisher. If any of ya'll are computer savvy, I'd appreciate the help, and I'll take input on how you did yours.
Sorry, can't help. I made the design and had a professional printer for a stack of passes. They cut even the rounded corners. Wolfgang
Mine are done in Publisher (2003). Printed on white Bristol sixty seven pound card stock, which is the same as that used for many greeting cards. HP stinks. Their equipment is cheap junk and software weak.... :tb-mad: Boxcab E50
For computer;s I'd agree, espcially since Apple is buying them out, but their Printers I find to largely be pretty good. But then, I like Dell.
We've been through several HP printer/scanners now. Every one of them glitches, is a struggle to use. Their expensive cartridges don't last, don't even print 20% of the quantity advertised. The printers clog and quit printing. Easily paper jam. On and on. Their capabilities are extremely limited. I can't get this current one to scan a TIFF above 300dpi and after every single scan it defaults so I am forced to reset time after time. For anything decent I must get out my 10+ year old Agfa flatbed, which is super simple, far fewer clicks and gives crystal clear results- Allowing much increased productivity. Boxcab E50
They may have "resolved" (performed desperate damage control) this one, but it didn't work, insofar as the rest of the world. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PnlWHdJGLM They wouldn't help me with my POG. If I could do this to mine, I would. Boxcab E50
And with that, we are "Live". I suspect that as time goes on, City of Madison will be making :running changes" to the Pass formats, including eliminating the need for the double print and or accomdating the second print's slight top margin being off, shoving the Pass number down 1/8th of an inch or so. (by the 5th card down, it's noticable) But I won't be the first or last to be dealing with such fits. For whatever reason, if I print from the Avery Desgin and Print Online to the 950, it's fine. But they don't do page numbers so I have to re-run them through the 1320.
NEW MEAT!!! Got a postcard from Walter Zahn informing me of a new Exchange listing. So if you haven't exchanged with a Murray Winchester of the Dominion & Atlantic, please PM me and I'll get you the address.
I've already got my pass # 134for the DOMINION ATLANTIC RAILWAY, together with a very nice stock certificate! Wolfgang
What do the stock certificates look like? I have a few from old roads no longer in service and wonder if they look similar.
The stock certificate does look nice and a lot like those which were once issued by railroads. Not as ornate, but a very good job, nonetheless. BoxcabE50
I got a rail pass from "City of Madison" thanks I didn't relize it was you. Thanks. Do I oue you a MK&E pass yet? (I didn't have you in my pass sent list)
