KCS 38 C30-7s headed for Brazil.

    More KCS news- 38 C30-7s acquired by KCS in the TFM privatization are supposed to be sold to MRS Logistica, S.A. in Brazil. The 38 older GEs were numbered 2206 to 2267 ( with several skips in between) on TFM. They've stayed on former TFM trackage since KCS acquired control, and should leave Mexico for Brazil by the end of March.

    Interesting. Sounds like they'll soon be an all EMD fleet. I wonder what condition these are in- Well used?

    With the Super 7s, Dash 8s and Dash 9s, I doubt they'll be all-EMD.

    As to condition, I'm sure they're all well-used, but nothing was said about their condition.

    This is KCSdM... not KCS proper. KCSdM has still got plenty of GEs, from new from the ground up C30-7Ns built in 1990-91 to AC4400CWs to ES44ACs...

    Am simply trying to figure out the entire KCSdeM roster. Guessing if they'll eventually lean toward the mother company in overall philosophy.

    Well so far KCS has AC4400Ws and KCSdeM has GEVOs to go with their Super 7s. I know KCS is getting "Big Aces", and has hit the lease market for B39-8s having got rid of the EMDX SD90MACs.

    I'll have to pose that question to the kcsnotes group at Yahoo to see what kind of answers I get.

    Yes, 5'3" gauge in Brazil. They use mostly older US 6-axle power with a bold paint scheme.

    Something interesting... Look closely at the ALL (America Latina Logistica) engine. It's not 5'3" gauge, but meter gauge.
