What an excellent response to this topic I'd almost be tempted to declare that the GP7/9 is the most popular model.

    Flash,

look after my TexMex GP7 ok :)

I'll say it again....great topic! There are some really impressive geeps out there.

I have one last contribution. This is a Late model Hallmark Brass GP-9 that I detailed and painted to match the NP prototype. I also replaced the original gears with brass and now this thing runs soooo smooth. It still needs some very light weathering but it will remain pretty clean as it was brand new during my modeling era.

    Andrew,

That is one excellent model I really like the additional details you have added to the model.

Here is another GP7 that I custom detailed and painted.

This loco looks very nice but the special thing about this particular Geep is the way it runs...now.
I've had it for a couple of years and didn't run it much because it was excessively noisy.
After reading an article by Ron Bearden, I removed the inner bearing blocks and the improvement (about 1000%) was enough to inspire installing a hardwired decoder. The trucks got tweaked using a technique my brother and I found that helped improve his tunnel motors.
Some time was spent tuning the decoder as well.
With just some time and an inexpensive decoder it resulted in the most dramatic improvement in running properties of any loco I have ever seen.
It creeps very nicely and runs super smooth and whisper quiet....now.

    Great thread BTW.

Great Geep Eric, here is one of mine which has had some additional details added by Flash Blackman. I think flash was reducing his fleet from 301 geeps to 300 so I scored it :D

Thanks, Colonel. I do need to reduce the inventory. Here are inventory numbers 237 and 119. First, a Kodachrome:

A lot of great work on this thread! My own effort is OK, but after following a formula for Pacemaker Green, I discovered that the formula is not correct: it should be much darker. But I think I'll keep it as it is (three diffferent decal sheets are necessary, and even then, the font size is not right in every instance) and wait for Atlas to make a proper version.

A lot of good looking locos and photos showing up in this thread. I'd like to offer up a couple of mine that I painted and decaled for either my freelanced road or my favorite prototype/fallen flag, the RDG.
