Hi, everyone. If it wouldn't be too forward of me, please allow me to start us off this week. I look forward to seeing more magnificent photos from all of our usual contributors, and hopefully from others! -Crandell
Very nice photo, River Eagle. Lots of nice detail and composition. That sweet engine ain't too shabby, neither!
More Moffat Route shots form last week! Gore Canyon is very deep, inaccessible, and remote. Here's Tunnel 40: Tunnel 39 separates the remote depths of Lower Gore Canyon from Radium, and Azure: A coal empty rips thru the open countryside between Sulphur and Granby: A BNSF eastbound manifest attacks the 2% grade out of Tabernash with a vengeance:
The remnant of the North Woods Hiawatha waits patiently at New Lisbon, Wisconsin station for its meeting with both the westbound and eastbound Hiawathas. After exchanging passengers. it'll travel back up the Valley line to Wausau.
Excellent modeling and prototype pics guys. I should try to get here more often. I don't think I've ever shown these here before, so I'd like to offer them up for viewing. Its some of my freelanced road's equipment on a layout that I made and sold about three or so years ago.
Nice pics everyone. I like the fact that someone just started it rolling and everyone joined in. I have seen huge fights break out on forums over when and who, when it comes to photo threads. I wish I had a camera so I could join in, but I am entirely without camera or camcorder these days.
Nice images all around the board! We must be giving editors headaches! Here's my first for tonight. I know that insane asylum is not politically correct today, but Jeanne and I are modeling the 1950s. So, after climbing the long grade behind Harrigton Farms, we pass this scene. We are directly above the East Harbor. In the foreground is our first ball field, which got destroyed last summer, when I fell fixing tracks behind the insane asylum. I wanted Animal House's Faber College here; Jeanne wanted an insane asylum. Guess who won? The buildings are paper-wrapped matte board.
Here's my second for tonight. This is Williamstown. You can see the insane asylum up on the hill in the background. It's a sleepy town. That's one of my five-minute backdrops for the sky. We'll return on the left track, after passing the plutonium "research" reactor and going on to Westover.
Here's my third. Past Williamstown, we get into the the suburbs. These are ceramic houses that I bought for about $1.00 each on eBay. They are about the right scale, and an easy way to populate a village. Some of them are rather garish, others just right.
This is not a favorite of mine, but it does show the garage that I built my railroad in. I haven't bothered to fix the sky--that's what it really looks like. The poor guard tower in left center really got bent in the move. I never saw it until this photo.
