In the last picture too you can sort of see some discoloration on the rocks from the cleanup where the water level line was added. The cleaner effected the color I guess. That should be an easy fix later.
Still going to invest in some heavy screen to cover the eaves, and I have been thinking of different ways to do the room including a drop ceiling with lights.....that would be a huge improvement.....4X4's with a 2X4 frame and plywood on top to cover whats done and mount lights on that.....would make for storage above the layout.......and even just simple ideas, some thing like window shades mounted on the backdrop and pulled down to cover the layout when not in use. Time will tell.....and so will my pocket book.....which gets done, but something will be done.
Jerry, very glad to see that you are recovering from the damage. On the positive side, it appears that this catastrophe has given you the opportunity to make improvements to areas you weren't all that happy with right from the beginning. :tb-biggrin:
Well, I have a handy excuse.... maybe you need a mast sticking up from the water where there was a recent sinking...and the rock discoloration is the oil slick... put some booms around it and a cleanup crew, film at 11! I'm just glad the recovery efforts look as good as they do. Your oceanside/bayfront is one of the finest N scenes ever and I still haven't seen anything even close to it out there.
In all honesty, if you look around at nature, there are stains and blemishes and mismatches everywhere. The various patch jobs & repairs that I've done over the years aren't exact matches to the scenery around it, but then neither is the real thing. Jerry, I guarantee no-one but you will notice any of the imperfections or changes. Your layout still looks fantastic.
LOL...Ok Jerry now you need to model scale bird crap on the shorline of Pinol. Glad to see you working on the layout again.
Thanks for all the comments guys. Its good to be working on the layout instead of cleaning it. Getting some pictures ready of tonights progress.
Not completely, but almost. Still have alot of screening to add. Its a long way up there and the last couple days it was alot more fun adding new trees.
Much fuller then even before the fight. Tried some new color too. Keeping with everyones humor, the new color is from the new fertalized soil.....LOL
Try and finish by this weekend with new static grass to blend it all together and some small details, and then back to the screen barriers and maybe some time to get back to the corner and get it finished finally.
As you can see in the photos I went with Woodland Scenics tree kits.....plastic I am hoping is stronger then the real twigs and weeds I originally used and will hold up better if there is a rematch.......LOL
