I imagine more and more of us are getting digital cameras that come with the dreaded Quicktime movie feature. I've been taking some around the Baltimore area and posting them on YouTube. Here's one I really like, because it's of a CSX Freight passing the 1885 B&O station in Aberdeen MD. The local historical society is trying to save it. CSX is willing to part with it, but they want it moved. This is the only extant B&O station left along the Philadelphia Subdivision. Watching the videos leads to the question.... If there was no grafitti on rail cars.....how much would the market for Spray Paint cans be depressed?

Last weekend I went back home to eastern Kentucky, where coal is king and CSX big AC power earns its keep. I grabbed this short video of a Virginia Power unit train that was just pulling away from the prep plant after being loaded. I was pretty stoked when I saw the second engine. If I had been just a little quicker I could have gotten to the clearing right next to the tracks and not have the trees partially blocking the first part of the video. As it was I barely had time to throw the truck in park and jump out. [ame="http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9cQ1KeRrig"]YouTube - CSX Unit Coal Train in Kentucky[/ame]

the first photo is in hamilton, ohio on the ns new castle district . this bridge goes over route 4. the second photo is from stockton, ohio on the csx toledo subdivision. Love those color position lights. this train is headed northbound he was going track speed so when i shot the photo it was a matter of good timing that i was able to include the signals in the pic.
thanks for the compliments. nevermind the dates on the photos i wish my camera didnt have a mind of its own . these were taken in the fall of 2007
