The purpose of this thread it to allow individuals to post what roadname(s) they wish to model for the purpose of enlightening others and inviting people or companies with resources in Z to respond to their needs.

For example, someone who wants to model the Frisco Railroad will post this information here, in hope that a manufacturer will see and respond with Frisco rolling stock or locomotives. Or a modeler/craftsman who can make decals might take notice and be willing to experiment with a Frisco decal set thus providing a necessary service for that Frisco modeler that was unavailable to them previously. Or someone who can etch metal may be willing to draw and etch a car side for an otherwise unavailable passenger car. For all these reasons it would be helpful for you to offer information about which locomotive or piece of rolling stock you are looking to gain.

There are no guarantees here, just your chance to "test the waters" and see what happens.

I can start with, I want to see any and all NP models available.

    I can use 44tonner, VO1000, NW2, SW 800,900,1200, and 1500's, FT,3,7,9, and FP7, GP7, 9, 18, RS1 and 3, U25C, U28C, U33C, and SD45's for Diesel locos. For Steamers, I want 0-6-0, 0-8-0, 2-6-2, 2-8-0, 2-8-2, 2-8-8-2, 4-6-0, 4-6-2, 4-6-6-4, and 4-8-4's in NP paint. So far there is a Marklin 4-6-2, and a MTL GP9 in NP, so you can see I have a lot more models to add to my wish list.

As for rolling stock, I will make whatever I don't have, but I would like to see more passenger cars, and extended shank truck mounted couplers.

    All NP all the time!

I have made NP decals for 65' Mill Gondolas, 66' Diamond Window Centerbeams, 55 ton coal hoppers, 60' Deep Rib Woodchip Hoppers, 53' Bulkhead Flat's, 53' General Service Flat's, 40' Wood Boxcars, 36' Wood Boxcars, 70 ton Covered Hoppers, F7's and SW1200 switchers that I applied to an SW1, and an assorted NP Steamer decal sheet. :D

I model Great Northern, Spokane Portland and Seattle, and Northern Pacific (1950s and 60s). A GN GP9 or 35 would be super. SP&S GP9s didn't have dynamic breaks and I don't know if MTL plans to come out with that version or not. An AZL E7 in GN would be great too.

I'd say give me everything, but I want a nice F3 A&B. The dream list would be: NW2 S12 AS616 AS16 RS3 FA1 (A&B) I would focus on the F3 though because I would buy that right now.

    For steam a good 0-6-0, 0-8-0, 4-6-0, 2-8-0, 2-8-2, 4-6-2, 2-8-4, 2-10-2. Really anything better than Marklin.

I'd ask for heavyweight PAX cars, but I took care of that. I'm sure new models would be better than mine, but I don't know if I'd want to do it all again.

I'm holding out for some Full Throttle Erie offset hoppers (crossing fingers)

Even if everything I wanted got made, I doubt I'd see then in Erie. I understand Erie is not really popular so I wont beg for it, but I do get tired of seeing everything UP SP and SF. And what is with all the CGW and NH stuff from MT? More my style and I do have one of each, but there are a bunch of different CGW and NH paint jobs while other RR get ignored. Hey Joe is there a CGW/NH fan working at MT?

If someone put out realistically detailed Portland and Western/Willamette and Pacific locos I would consider switching scales.

50's to 60's CP and Soo. Would love CP GP-7 or 9. If somebody did decals, I could probably do the red:tb-biggrin: It would be nice if a company did undecs and had a selection of decals for every road.

I would like some more PRR, but do like Lehigh Valley.

It would be nice for some more Steam, and some switchers.

In another topic whats up with Marklin? Are they getting rid of Z

I'm with JD. I'd like to see more early to mid 50s pennsy (even though there is actually quite a bit).

As for decals, I would like Pennsy Steam loc and tender decals including multiple road numbers for L1s, I1s, K4s etc. to make kit bashing a bit easier.

As for rolling stock in other roads, 50s liveries for the NYC, D&H, LV, LNE, Erie, B&O... in no particular order.

I am a steam guy in Z no doubt. So any small steam would be apprecitated. If not that how about a manufacturer making tenders with kato syle pickups that we could use on the current ones! I am telling you you'd make a fortune!!!!! I mean I like running my MT moguls and they run great when I use gagemasters. I'd love just to be able to run them with a plain battery without the fear of stalling. Ok off my soap box. Believe it or not when I was into N scale, I really liked modeling the Penn Central....yes I have the flat car and the box. I grew up seein it and always have a soft spot for the old PC.

Any affordable steam is what I am longing for. I am sure the first manufacturer that comes out with a affordable steam will be the one setting standards in the long run like the MTL couplers...

I'm more for modern stuff myself (late 70's - current day). ANYTHING B&O, C&O, Western MD, Chessie, CSX, Conrail, and Seaboard Systems would make me happy. Can't wait for the CSX SD40-2 from MTL and hopefully Seaboard Systems is in the works as well. A small afordable switcher would be nice.

I'd also have to agree with the guys who want affordable American Steam locos. That would be nice too.

Anyone aware of a font package for Seaboard Systems (NOT Seaboard Coast Lines - I'm aware of that font) for making custom decals? Microscale decals in N are just a little too big for what I like.

I've custom painted and decaled a MTL CSX GP-35, and Chessie Caboose, as well as a CSX 90 Ton Penzee Hopper and a Happy Birthday GP-35 to go along with Happy Birthday set from MTL. A B&O GP-35 and Chessie Safety Caboose and WM caboose are in the works.

When I started modelling CSX, there wasnt much CSX running stock, but through repainting of engines, boxcars, hoppers, flats, and building kits, I am acquiring a sizeable amount of CSX running stock. I bought most CSX n scale decals hoping it would fit. Some did and some of them didnt, but I can share my experience on wich ones did work. I also have some custom made decals, and I may have extras.

Here is my wish list. All CSX of course.

I like everything in the North and SP. My wishlist:
    - EMD SD7 or SD9
    - GE B23-7
    - Baldwin RF-16 Sharknose
    - some ALCO stuff, doesn't matter what...
    - Big steamers, but not AZL Brass or Marklin....(not much left)
    - O.K., it' s UP but a DDA40X would be very impressive....
    - Rolling stock? Nothing prefered, but give me kits!

    GN, of course...

    I second jlundy46 (?), a.k.a. John's call for GN, SP&S, and NP.

(I gotta live up to my nickname as "GN-Z-Phile". ;-) )

    yes. you are that person!

i used your request because a frisco loco would be easy to paint and make decals for. if you don't have one on your layout, you should!! you made the request earlier and it was that which got me to thinking about this "want it now, need help to get it" thread.

i'm glad people are giving us lists of things they want to see -- but the listing will be more immediately helpful if posters will focus on what they want in rolling stock and locos that are currently available.

so ... who needs GP35 decals or paint in their particular roadname? we are hearing that the D&H people need a start, as the Great Northern fans, and SP&S, etc.

i would like to see every Z scale modeler have a least one loco to run on their layout in their chosen road -- until more becomes available.

i hope this thread accomplishes that. we are ALL benefitted when we work together to help and encourage each other.
