Just in time for the open house. Paint! http://nmslrhs.org/Photos/2013/08-31/index.html Regards, Kevin
I'd like to see those kids come back for a our, when 2926 is alive. I wonder what they'd think of a fire breathing dragon?
Here are photos of the preperations for the open house, ther are a few good shots of the new paint. http://www.nmslrhs.org/Photos/2013/09-07/index.html Regards, Kevin
Not only paint, but you guys installed the cab for the open house. Great work. I'd love to see a side view of the engine at the open house. The fact that you fabricated the cab mounting brackets to replace the ones stolen by some scum is also great. Obviously they worked!
Oops. Forgot to ask: Does the cab now stay on permanently? Or was that done just for your open house?
Thanks again for the update. So much useful modeling information from seeing parts that are hidden in trackside photos of engines. Wouldn't even want to guess how many grinding and wire brushes it is taking. Robert
Kevin, what's the diameter of that feedwater pipe, 3 or 4 inches? Looks like a lot of water can flow through that. It makes me wonder how 261 gets along with only two injectors, with small diameter pipes. Is that the one Carlos created?
The pipe is six to eight inches, and is feed by a four cylinder pump. The injectors are much smaller. The girl is getting her makeup on. Grin. Regards, Kevin
More photos, the flex stay sleeves start to get welded on. The cat supers are intent on the work. http://www.nmslrhs.org/Photos/2013/09-21/index.html Regards, Kevin
Three Stooges... Are those welders a local firm? Or did they need to come in from out of town? I'll bet that cost a few big $$$!!!
They (the welders) are local to ABQ, we are lucky to have a number of good shops here. Having the money to contract out some of the work will speed up the completion a lot. Regards, Kevin
Yes it is great. But the albums are like potato chips, "Gotta have just one more." then the bag is empty, at least we have a real big bag. Grin. Regards, Kevin
I have been waiting for the photos, here they are, the open house. I am the one in the red shirt. (no Star Trek comments, please. Grin.) http://nmslrhs.org/Photos/2013/09-28/index.html Regards, Kevin
2926 looks fantastic with all the work done for the open house. Hope you made big $$$ from the crowd.
Awesome! Love seeing the Lionel and kids. How is your public support these days? Has it increased, as the project progresses?
