Last evening, my wife came home from work. With a couple if tin boxes. A co-worker of hers, had passed them on to me. I was wondering- Does anyone know what these are? Two slightly different sizes. Am guessing of recent manufacture. Actually made by Lionel? Or outside under license? Would a picture help? Boxcab E50
A picture would help. You say they came in a tin Lionel box? A lot of different Lionel liscenced items have been manufactured by knick knack companies and put in tin boxes. Avon put out S scale size trains in tin boxes. Hallmark does N scale size XMAS ornaments. Both are static models. Someone else put an O scale size wind-up tin handcar in a tin box if I'm not mistaken.
I've not kept up to speed closely, with Lionel, for many years. What have is three nesting tin boxes. With lids. All done in the Lionel colors and logos. With pictures of Lionel products on their sides. All boxes are identical, except for size. I will try to have a photo up shortly. Boxcab E50
Just saw the image you uploaded into RI... Lionel Limited Edition Legendary Trains Tin Medium sized metal box, Sealed with 2 10oz. bags of popcorn inside. Dated 1998 Licensed by Lionel LLC
This is the smallest of three. Without a lid, it measures approximately 7"H, 12&3/4"L, and 9"W. Sorry for that flash bounce. Just wanted to grab a quick view. Boxcab E50
