Looks like these were taken two years ago when they were running the sleepers on the rear during the summer.

This was on the cover of the 1977 Texas Highway Road Map that they handed out free at the welcome centers when you crossed the state line. This is what is called the MoPac Highway on the Northwest side of Austin, Texas.
Here's a few more from the last time I was up in Colorado. Not the best of light, but this is all I have left. Pacing Amtrak along the straight stretch of road between Tabernash and Fraser And stopped at Fraser. Wish the lighting was better for the train, since I like how the clouds look. -Mike
That is a great shot Mike. I opened the image in Photoshop and gave it a quick levels mask. How about this?
Thanks Mark! MUCH better! I wish I knew photoshop, I have alot of train pictures that could use this. Can't wait for you to post up some tutorials! Mike
Yesterday Amtrak was running late and sat in Grand Junction waiting for the U.P. MOW crew to clear the tracks. This gave my son and I a chance to shoot some pictures from a pedestrian bridge. Ben
Departure time was 6:10 pm actually left around 6:20 pm due to unable to contact the foreman of the crew. Normal departure time is 4:10 pm so about 2 hours. Should be going on all week due to the track work.
We were kind of shocked to see Amtrak still sitting at the station so we rushed over to the pedestrian bridge to get a shot of it. As we climbed the bridge we noticed one MOW piece followed, by another and another and so on. I'm not sure of the total equipment count but their sure seemed to be a lot of it returning to the yard for the night. I'm sure that Amtrak will be glad when the track work is over. Ben
