After reading the threads about Kato's new SP GS4s and Morning Daylight set I was wondering how many HO people have bought or are buying them. Its my understanding that the HO shipped before the N Scale, so if you have them, how do you like them?
Boy do I feel foolish. I was reading about Con-Cor's Aerotrain the other day; its HO units have supposedly shipped. How I got the idea that it was Kato's Morning Daylight I don't know. I have seen the N Scale Kato Morning Daylight in a shop in Burbank, CA. But I haven't received the ones I pre-ordered online back in Sept. yet. Best!
Kato doesn't even have a full set for display at the shows the last I had seen so I don't think they would have been setting in a shop. They are not due for another month and a half.
Skipgear; A Kato Daylight 10 car set appeared on ebay on Jan. 20th (Item No. 150208236041). Perhaps its just the GS4s that aren't shipping yet? I'll check the store in Burbank again today or tomorrow... need to go there anyway. Steve; BLI makes awesome stuff.
These are older sets that they ran a while back not the new ones w/ articulated cars. It is amazing to me that the older sets sell on the Bay for more than the new ones can be ordered for..
KATO had a full set out at Trainfest in Milwaukee, while unlettered, it was truely beautiful!
Daylights No sign of the Kato "Daylight" around here either but if it hasn't been released, no wonder. Athearn has announced the 1937 Daylight in HO. A GS4 would be out of place on the point of this train as the GS4 class wasn't built until 1941. After the Daylight cars were put in a common pool the cars from the 1937,39 & 41 Daylights could be found mixed and pulled by any of the GS classes and also Alco PA's and EMD E & F units. The last long distance Daylight in steam was the "San Joaquin Daylight" until September 1956.
i am planning on saving far a bachman 4449 daylight after the ES40DC (wich i might get it if there is one in the Train show in maryland)(yayyy!!!!!!!!!!!)
