Today I have had my car to the garage for a check. I had to wait. What to do with an hour and more? Take your camera with you and go to the track which is a few minutes away. The map shows the situation at 51°27'37'' N and 7°34'54'' E. The two black dots represent the camera point. Effective I was there from 10:30 until 11.15 am, 45 minutes only. And I've got a few trains: The first train, a passenger, run from Schwerte to Unna, at the map from south to north. You can still see the end of the first train when a second approaches from north / Unna. And another train from north to south/Schwerte.
The new cantileverd signal. They have installed new signals. As much as I know are the signals now controled in Hagen, 30 km away. And a commuter train from Schwerte to Dortmund. This train takes the track to the northeast, out of the map picture.
And I've changed my place to the other - the sunny side. Again a commuter, I missed. The signal tells: another train will come. This is not this expected train.
Now the expected train, again a passenger train. You see the signal next to the train, it is announcing another train from Unna to Schwerte.
This is also not the announced train, this is another commuter from Dortmund to Schwerte. The announced train under the bridge. This bridge belongs to A1, the important north - south Highway (Autobahn). It's a freight!
The signal has not yet cleared. The last car in the distance. The train will be in a few moments at Schwerte. And this all in 45 minutes. Wolfgang
Today in the morning I accompanied my wife at her walk with the dog. This time we choose a way with some track, Google Earth 51° 28' 11'' N and 7° 39' 10'' E: I made a few pics. Position 1 And from the bridge at position 2:
Nearly two hours later on the way back to the car I had at positon 3 a last train: This train had about 20 cars, all with wood. I guess, the storm Kyril last year. Wolfgang
I have no idea. You see sometimes a engine light at this tracks. Yesterday at the other place I saw also an engine light. Perhaps a replacement for another engine? Wolfgang
