Well, I still haven't figured out where this is yet. I believe it is the US and that the auto racks either pick up used cars or drop them off. Looks like some sort of salvage yard near there. I don't think it is a pick up point cause of the lack of a large number of auto racks and the shortness of the stubs. (Of course I could be wrong. The autos could be shipped by truck to this loading point. GM does that here.) However, I have a question about the auto rack that is the 5/6 car on the top row. Those two cars seem shorter than the other racks. I thought most auto racks were standard size. Someone wanna enlighten a naive person? :tb-biggrin:
I thought it might be but I wasn't sure. Are they exclusive to one road? I have only seen them on BNSF.
I've seen them on UP, NS and CSX as well. Hadn't seen them on KCS, altho I have seen KCS-lettered cars.
Between 90 and 105 W, 35 and 45? N. A lot of old roadbed. A lot of black freight cars, but not unit trains. A court house square with modest height buildings. Not many trees other than in residential areas, flat. No mammoth industries. Only one (and a half) watercourse visible, otherwise dry. Great plains state. Need to fly Google Earth now. Bob in IDaho
Close, but not quite. Sorry can't help much more than that since I've gotten my 5 here. Go north my friends :tb-wink:
Turn the Transportation overlay on in the Places of Interest tab. Then look for Airports. I your using Google Maps I think you need to use Hybrid mode......
