Has anyone used the "Hump Yard" mechanical turnout levers with the "Blue Point" turnout controllers? I'm just curious, because I like the (semi prototypical) look of those levers and the plastic knob supplied with the bluepoints leaves a lot to be desired. If they can be made to work together...it'd be the best of both worlds.
That's a good idea. Buy them and try it out then let us know. I don't find being on the leading edge but not the cutting edge:tb-biggrin: See ya Ron
I don't think the hump yard controls are going to give you enough throw distance to operate the blue point control. The hump yard controls are made to be used alone, and you may not need the blue point at all.
I have no idea what Blue Point controls are but I have a bunch of the Hump Yard levers and love them. After installation and adjustment I’ve gone more than 4 years without any need to replace or even re-adjust any of the Hump Yard controllers. I use them on both Peco and Shinohara switches.
I'd never heard of the Hump Yard product until now. After looking at their site, I may need to get a couple and check them out. Really like the look...
I've just been researching this a little and found that apparently both Hump yard and New Rail Models are looking into this exact same thing. The only problem that I can see is that when I made measurements I found that the hump yard levers have a throw of .300" and the Blue Points .225" Thanks to those who replied and I will keep you posted as I find out more.
