Now we're talking. How about a John Deere combine with operating grain chute? We would then need a utility tractor with a grain wagon to come along side to receive the harvest periodically and haul it to the grain bin or elevator. It could pull out on the road and slow down those idiot drivers trying to beat my trains at the crossing. Of course, that means I'll need a field of self growing N scale grain to be harvested. Now it's just getting "silly." :tb-biggrin:

Want to make a bundle of money? Come up with an operating Shay loco in Z Scale. You wouldn't even have to have moving parts. Just the loco sitting on top of a chassis. DCC? All the better but not required. Cheers, Jim CCRR

I would like to see an early version SD40-2 and an MP15AC in N Scale even if it's just a conversion kit to make the Atlas MP15DC into an Atlas MP15AC,all though I would like to see an MP15AC like the Athearn Genesis in HO Scale.And the SD40-2 available in RTR like the Athearn HO Scale model.I would love to see the 89' flat car and 20,700 gallon tank cars and a bay window caboose like the Platinum Series in HO Scale from Walthers or some other manufacturer.
How about a fully operating Speeder with DCC and lights with enough weight to pull it's MOW carts. :tb-biggrin:

How about a plug and play easy to use DCC or comparable system that connects your computer to your layout and auto detects the locomotives and sets them up ... USB powered with surround sound and controls lighting and is easy to install .... hmmmm that would be fun ... then I could multitask all day at the computer. Also how about integrated wireless cameras in the locomotives which give us the view out the front of our locomotives? Now that would be cool!
Maybe we could get a scale BJ and the Bear set to go with that, if you remember that show with the trucker who always drove around with a chimpanzee.
I'm with those who go with locos that don't require clean track to operate. The GPS would be neat, and someone is already working on that. I saw it at the NTS last year, but right now, there is a whole separate add on that costs about the same as the decoder plus the overall GPS unit. Oops, cost is not an object on this thread. How about scenery that grows - trees next year would be bigger than trees this year....rivers would occaisionally flood.....actually, John Armstrong proposed moving cloud backdrops years ago and that would actually be pretty neat, and with flat screen TV's (and now those flat paper thin flourescent lights) there might be a way to make that work.
I will bet you a rapido coupler that several of these are either in the works or will be. Maybe a few manufacturers will steal the idea from this thread!! How about radio wireless control directly to the engine and wireless power for the engines so we dont have to worry about dirty track. Reverse loops would be a no brainer!
READING CO. Electrics and the catenary you just drill a hole and push the uprights into. That includes both the "blue" and "silverliners" since I am starting my READING TERMINAL bash. E44s and E60CPs along with decent running Electroliners for the NE Corridor would be welcomed. Mark
Most of this is available now. By installing trackside sensors you can program multi train operation for continuous running. What I saw of it was fairly simple. Place the sensors where you want to affect the motion of the trains Almost English language commands including conditionals The sensors and power supplies feed back into a "black box" which connects to your computer via USB. If you are interested I'll track down the company.
