As always some great shots from everyone, very inspiring. In the spirit of the holiday (pun intended) here is the scariest thing on my rail. 'End Sport' pulling a toxic load.
Here are some shots from our NTRAK club setup this weekend. Two new junction modules allow the 20 foot of yard modules to be placed in the middle as opposed to being in the main line loop as we have done in the past.
Yeah, if you move the little house to throw the red line turnout to the diverging route, it will disconnect power to the through tracks for yellow and blue. The yellow line turnout will kill blue. Try to keep T bone collisions to a minimum.

October was a great month for railfanning. I was able to take pictures all four weekends and one week day! October started out with another trip to the East side of Rollins Pass. A few photos have been been submitted by Jermey already. I can't get enough of the views of Riffle Sight notch and the tressels around there. Would love to model it! Anyway, Tuesday Oct 7th I took the day off to go celebrate the girlfriend's birth day with a day trip to Glenwood Springs. She was kind enough to let me take the more scenic route through Bond and down the Dotsero Cutoff. We saw our first train tied down at Bond. As we drove down the cutoff we came across this BNSF trackage rights manifest. Great set of power, especially the trailing unit! The following weekend I headed up the East side of Rollins Pass to complete to photo tour Jermey has been working on. On the way down the pass I was able to catch this manifest at last night pushing hard towards the East Portal. I like the exhaust effect in the low light.
Last weekend I made a fast turn-around trip to Wyoming to see me niece swim in her first swim meet. On the way home Sunday I again took the more scenic route over old US 30 from Walcot to Larmie. I have always wanted to get a late afternoon shot from the bridge just West of Como. I had to back track 8 miles at a high rate of speed and run like my life depended on it just to get this grab shot. Further down the line East of Rock River and West of Rock Cut I was able to catch this manifest. I have tried a simular shot further up the S-curve before in early morning light with Elk Mountain in the background. This shot would be pretty good if it weren't for the power lines. This shot too required an all out sprint! A few seconds later. Which shot do you like better?
I like the way the light catches the rail curving around to the right in the first one. What are the objects standing to the right and left of the train in the "afternoon shot from the bridge just West of Como". Are those signals? They look like something a modeler could do a nice job on.
Very nicely done! I dunno how I missed this--oh yeah, I was working 12 days straight... I like the first pic at Rock River. Both arenice, but the shaded side of the units are still relatively hidden. The late afternoon light worked well. The Como shot is very cool as well. I have climbed to the top of those rocks behind that train, when I chased 3985 from Portland in 2005..... The view is nice, but not what I wanted, with the light I had at the time.
