Here is the #Budweiser Clydesdale "piggyback flat/trailer" Stock#R-1763 so you can plug it in to the list
Be prepared most of the early piggybacks go for $100.00-$150.00 I have aquired a few early Beer Reefers in the $50.00 range
Here is a link to view some of these cars:

I wrote the person who has this car for the stock # he stated USAT didn't put numbers on the boxes of their cars??? which we know isn't completely true but anyhow could this be one of the missing reefers on solase's list my guess would be #16008 Rd # 103 wooden shoe lager

    Route66

Thanx for the info Route66. In a way it is nice to know that some USA items do go up in value, most are limited production. When USA Trains makes a road name, they just don't keep on producing it for the next 10 years. This was a problem with Aristocraft, they never came out with new road names, just kept beating the same old road names to death. Piggybacks do seem to be one of the most USA desired to be collected for some reason, I see alot of bid wars going for those piggy backs.

R16292 Armour Line, R16300 UP & SP PFE, R16301 SP PFE and R16303 Rio Grande are orange in color and not yellow. Ok by a stretch of the imagination I would consider some orange reefers as part of the class of reefers that could be construed as part of "The Great Yellow Fleet" but R16292 Armour was a meat packer from the mid-west.

Sorry about the delay in responding. I just found out about this thread. Like you I have no knowledge of any heritage series in woodside reefers. If I assume correctly that heritage means prototypical like, then Prospect and Upper Ridge at first appearance seems too whimsical.

What makes me so knowledgable in USA Trains

I'm sure most of you are wondering what is my credentials or how did I come across with such knowledge in USA Trains and Charles Ro items, especialy since I've only been collecting them since 2000. Well I have been to many Large Scale train shows through the years. I have talked with hobby store owners who actually had New Old Stock Charles Ro items on the shelves bought out from other stores and collections. Some of it is just by past experience in purchasing Charles Ro items, but what keeps me straight the most is that I have every USA Trains catalog, sales flyers and ad circular that came out from 1998 til current. So when ever there is a question about a certain item, I keep what I call my USA Train bible books on hand.

However, these books, catalogs and circulars did not cover any special or limited edition releases made for specific hobby shops, so in that area, I'm still lacking information. Also USA Trains for hobby shops didn't have normal USA Trains stock numbers on them.

    USA Trains Pictures

    Hi EMD Trainman,

As a collector of everthing G scale, I like to keep a picture of my items in my database. Generally, I like to use the manufacturer's pictures, since they're usually of good quality. On USA Trains web-site, I've found that they quite often will retain pictures of the out-of-production models, if you know how to get to them. Here's what I do (using a wood reefer as an example):

    1. Look up a current production car (example: R16303 D&RGW ). Look at the link you get in your browser address bar and you'll see the model number as the last part of the link: http://www.usatrains.com/r16303.html.

    2. Simply change this number to the model number of the car you're trying to find and hit Enter to see if they still have the car on their web site. Example: looking for car # R16217, change the link to: http://www.usatrains.com/R16217.html and hit Enter. Sometimes you may have to add an "a", "b", "c" or so-on to the end of the # if the car was produced in various versions.

    Happy hunting!

Santa Fe Nut, thanx for that tip. I tried your method and there were a couple of blanks, but for the most part I did get pictures of out of production items.

    USAT Pepsi Starter set

USAT did sell a Pepsi starter set R-72305. It contained an NW-2 (#1998), Reefer (#1900) and a Woodside Caboose (#2000). The set also contained an oval of track and a powerpack. To my knowledge the Woodside Caboose was only available through this set. The other rolling stock were available separately.

It was recomended by someone on Train Board tha I document pictures also with the description. I now have a huge library of USA Trains pictures, anyone looking for a specific picture of a out of stock item, let me know, I may be able to help. I have pictures of both Charles Ro and USA Trains out of stock items, especially the R1600 series reefers.

I have a fairly extensive collection of the billboard series. I can provide pictures of these cars if you are missing any. Please let me know numbers and how to send (or attach) the pictures.
I have also been verifying the list to my collection. There are a few discrepancies in descriptions or reporting marks. I can furnish you with updates if you would like to update the list.

Sure, I would love to have a update. So much info has been lost over the years, so it's hard to keep everything straight. I have USA trains catalogs dating back all the way to 1997 that I can verify info with, but anything before that time period I cant. I also understand USA Trains or Charles Ro didn't have a catalog before 1997, but not sure. I just want to have USA Trains info for future generations to refer to without having each person doing extensive research. Train values may be down again now, but one day they will be sought after again. It was nice to see actual pictures of these trains also.

Basically any help, info would be appereciated since the passing of Solase who was helping me out before and have been on my own since.

By the way, in your extensive collection you wouldn't happen to have a extra USA Trains woodside reefer car stock #1624 Rio Grande #50 or stock #16253 Rio Grande. I'm looking for these two to complete my RioGrande collection. I have a bid on one other that I need for my Rio Grande collection. Thanx in advance for any leads

On a recent eBay posting by T_ , U12 is shown as an orange T&P woodside with a red T&P logo. I have one of these in a USAT box which is unfortunately not labeled except with a small sticker with "186092". The reporting marks on the car are T&P 6896.
