While the overall quantity of images is down this week, the quality did not falter one bit.

Thanks for choosing mine. Great work everyone else. I love the low viewpoint [and the modelling] in NYW&B's shot and Crandell's over-size steamer made me smile.
Wolfgang - the scene was lit with twin fluoros overhead - one "daylight" and one triphosporous, and 7 or 8 feet away to the right I had two 500watt halogen floodlights.
My Olympus camera has a red-blue balance control so I gave it a bit of blue to stop any yellowing.

You had me fooled. I had thought you shot this outside, or at least backed up to a large opening such as a garage door.

 

I get some outdoor light reflected in, but not much at that time of day unfortunately. The floodlights overwhelm it anyway. If anyone is thinking of using the floodlights they get EXTREMELY hot and you must not look into the light.

I avoid floodlights in my basement. I am tall enough that my head would touch them, and I don't want to set fire to my hair.

I have a skylight above my layout. I shot the Mack truck picture when the sunshine was right on that spot. I use a Sony Cybershot pocket camera.

When I find I need more light than the room floods can provide, I've been dragging over a floor lamp with a compact flourescent bulb in it. I like the warm glow it gives to the scene. CF bulbs weren't common when they designed this camera, so I suspect that it doesn't know how to correct for that lighting. Fine with me.
