Modeling Photo Challenge Topic: "Red" 1. All challenges close at 10pm Pacific Standard Time, and will be noted with a "Time's up!" post within the thread. 2. Though not required, commenting on other peoples pictures is encouraged. 5. Only one image per participant so please choose the image carefully. 6. Please use the Cutting Room Floor thread for related but ineligible images. 7. Any posts with images taken before the commencement of the challenge will not be included in the poll. 8. For photos to be eligible they must be taken by a TB member between Friday Aug 14th and Monday Aug 17th. 9. Ensure dates and times on your camera are correct. 10. On Aug 18th, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of Trainboard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. Voting will be unlimited multiple choice. We look forward to seeing many contributors, remember this is to encourage all photographers to take a shot of the subject rather than post a photo taken in the past. *Also, throughout the month of August, we will be holding our 2nd video contest! These will be held as completely separate contests from the photo challenges. Check them out here. There is one contest for Prototype and one for Modeling.
I am thinking NWILMRR club will be all over this with their red "Rock River" home RR company:thumbs_up:
I'm in, but it was very difficult choosing between this BAR car and a cool close up of an SP tunnel motor's scarlet front weathered. There are four different colors of artists oils representing red rust on this car plus some others like black for more intensely aged rust. So in total six shades of red including the cars original color.
4 great entries so far. Keep them coming. I'm in Nebraska, so I'll get to submit something from my father's layout.
This just about the only "red" I have at this point. This is the SD10 that I kitbashed a very long time ago in a other modeling life. Over the years of bouncing around, it has taken a beating. Among the "injuries" was the loss of the short hood. I just purchased an Athearn SD9 shell off of ebay and have begun the process of "healing" her injuries. I still have to strip the paint, so thanks to the SP SD9 shell, I have a little red to submit to this contest. Before stripping the paint I will sand the part down. After stripping comes the body filler and more sanding. Truly a labor of love.

In the early 1950's the T&NO took delivery of some new C-30-4 cabooses painted with vermilion red ends. They did not last long as such before the ends were painted daylight orange.
With Jim's Northern Division layout under construction, I guess I'd better submit something from the Z scale guys. So here's my submission from a cool and overcast day in California. And it looks like Jerry and I had the same idea. :tb-biggrin: Good luck to all! Bill Mock
How cute a pink caboose. Thanks, one of my daughters wants me to get one for my layout now.biggrin: I guess the qualifier is the red Sante Fe car in front of it.
