From the Bull Frog Snot web sight they claim that a layer of snot is .0055 thick. So this should nicely fit on the center driver and make contact with the track without creating a high spot in the center of the truck. Will have to look around for it here and see how much that 25.00 bottle costs once it is imported to Canada.
I'm the same way!! Grrrrrr!! Is there anyway to get it in bottle form, for airbrushing? Has anyone ever "busted" open a can and put it in your airbrush? There's gotta' be another way.
Robert, they look great, did you paint your grills unassembled, so the fans blades wouldn't get painted over? Because we can clearly see that the fans blades are not the same color, thus the great effect. Ben
I painted the fans white last, then dropped them in the fan hole. There is a .06" circular spacer in between the fan blades part and the grill, so the blades sit a bit lower than the grille.
Rob if your useing the blue I came with. I think the have a satin cote for a semi-gloss look. Give Hobby Town a call so you dont waste a trip.
Yes, that's the Tamiya Dark Blue you came up with Nick. I got some of that Polly Scale Satin Coat from Hobby Town yesterday afternoon, as well as the flexible RC paint for the handrails in dark blue, white, and black for the couplers and plows. Hien came over and looked over my work, suggesting which paints to use on Delrin, saying that the Water Based RC Car Paints are the paints to use. You will really like this MRL paint scheme Nick!
If you use the Dupli Color Adhesion Promoter on the railing as directed (you can get it at any Napa or auto parts store...spray can) you can paint them any color with any medium other than acrylic. We have parts we sprayed different colors and then after a day tied the railing in knots without any chipping. The flexible paint is a good option, but you need this Adhesion Promoter first to keep the paint in place. Joe Ps..good work as usual.
I came across a picture of the test GP40-2 that was at several shows on display and it had flanged drivers on six axles. I can't remember if the ones that were running around on the test track did or did not have flanged wheels on all 6 axles.
Do you spray it on first then paint or do you mix it with the paint? I did my cars bumpers a few years ago and added flex agent with the paint.
AZLs have 6-wheel / 3-axle trucks. Center axle is flanged but not powered, although it picks up electric power. Dom
Look at this ebay madness. The etore even tells them the suggested retail price, and they still over bid it. Z-Scale Micro Trains CSX SD40-2 New - eBay (item 160367115410 end time Oct-10-09 20:37:29 PDT)
Unbeliveable! She is one of the very few sellers I have ever given negative feedback to (March of this year). It's too bad there is no way to contact the bidders.
Joe, can you tell Loren to keep his current price and have free shipping. Becareful, he may put you in a a straigh jacket.
What's the problem with this seller? If somebody wants to buy a loco at this rate he must have...how can I say this nice and political correct....some "good reason"
