Gerd, I once saw a package of flex track sell for over $70.00 I wanted to alert the buyer in the worst way to not go through with the bid, but too late. These bidders obviously don't know much about this loco. Shucks, if I could somehow contact them and tell them I could save them a whole lot of money.....how sad for the buyer. How does that saying go?........"too soon old, too late smart"
John, You know my prices are always consistent, but I can't do free shipping, it really takes a lot of the profit away. Now if you bought $1,000 worth and it didn't weigh much, then I could sure cut a good deal.
I understand Loren. I was just making fun of Joe for pointing out the free shipping. It was his idea, so no pie for him.
John, Truthfully, Joe and I haven't eaten much pie lately. We're going for the full blown meal usually. We used to meet on Wednesday night, (free slice of pie with meal night), but since we meet on Tuesday, we go for the meat and potatoes types of food. Hungry boys need mo calories..... )
I wonder if they didn't read the description and they think they are bidding on two engines? You would think with over 6000 transactions they would be more informed.:tb-sad:
Tonigh, I took apart the SD40 truck, and its very similar to a SD70 truck. My plans to use a GP35 wheel as a replacement went out the door. The wheels are very different. On the GP35, the wheel is the female portion of the axle, and the gear is the male. Its opposite on the SD40. I will try to build a six wheel drive truck to test it on my layout and see if its a improvement.
Just spray on another coat of Dullcote. There is hardly much body to Dullcote, what you are seeing is an optical effect of splotchy glossy and dull parts. Dullcote likes to go on thick (but not too runny) so it doesn't separate on the surface like this. I've done several heavy coats with layers of weathering in between and have yet to get too much build-up on N and Z cars.
That's worth a try, as I have left it dry a week now, and it does have blotches of gloss and dull to the finish. Maybe an all flat finish will look thinner.
Robert, they are SD40 wheels. Only the SD40 wheels have the cones. I havent tried it yet. I need to test my engine with base wheels first, then I can compare it with the six powered axle.
