I did a winter layout years ago, and found several tricks, plus several problems with snow. I used the Woodland Scenics snow, and it worked okay. I added womens cosmetic glitter to my snow mix to make it sparkle a little like in the picture. The problem i found was that over time, the white glue i used to fix the snow in place began to turn a little yellow, and my snow was loosing its nice white color. I had to touch up area from time to time, and even white wash the worst areas. For snow on buildings, i found that white plaster worked best for me, and i would sprinkle a little snow dust on before it was dry. This gave me the piles of snow in even and hanging over roof edges that looked good. I would recomend you try a test area first, and explore a few techniques before settling in. Tony B... Hi Loren, You find it in shops for landscape painters or on a lot of places where they have supply for weekend hobbyist. If you search for "glass powder" on Internet you find. In the old times, oldtimes girls used it for cosmetic, but they also used arsen.............
I suspect Michaels, or any art store. But I'll go with the woodland scenic stuff for trials first. But I have discover what the Gray brothers are using for their snow, Hey hey!:bear-wink: (you know the little houses on Ebay) see here Homedepot or Lepage . Ben
