Well put. I now have a better understanding.

Heck, all I have anymore is time and I enjoy pushing my view on every body else. Keeps the arthritis from developing in my hands. Grin!

You are ok with me and I hope we can look at this and get a laugh or two. I should perhaps go and play on another website so I don't bother anyone else here...tooooo much. But, I kind of like rattling your cage. Grin!

No problem and I did get your point. Just don't expect me to change. After all I'm the early warning siren, you will here in your ears, everytime the Bachmann alarm goes off here.

I'd rather see you get into the newer stuff and enjoy the level of quality now coming out of Bachmann. Did I say the old stuff needs to go...bye, bye? I've gotten this down and so fine tuned it's just automatic....anymore.

    Thanks for your two cents.

I thought about this overnight and came to the conclusion that each of us needs to put our two cents in here and I encourage that.

What I discovered is if someone is searching out information regarding this HO TGV, Bachmann Train Set, via an oogle google search, up pops this discussion. Here they will get the pro's and con's and be able to make up their own mind.

I hope that all of you will realize I was giving my honest opinion and how I would handle this. What you do with the information I share here is up to you. Take what you want from this and leave the rest behind. Dig?

    The best to all.

ok guys, i don't frequent this forum much and didn't expect this topic to blow up like this. i did my research on the set before posting and didn't find very much information. i found the one listing that somone posted here on google saying it was junk..

i also found that this set was "ONLY PRODUCED IN 85 and 86" therefor i thought "maybe" it would have "some" value. not a lot but a little. i also searched ebay and found "none" for sale. i usually base my prices on stuff i purchase or sell off what they are going for on ebay. i have a decent collectiong of ho trains, rivarossi, bachmann, athern, lionel, a few lionel and marx 027 sets, a bachmann g guage set, even cheap "new bright g guage electric set" i bought the tgv train set about 7 months ago for 50 bucks, but there was also a old tyco crossing, about 25 atlas switch tracks, and who knows how much atlas straight/curve tracks, a play art 0-4-0 steam engine, about 15 tracks with bumpers, and a few marx freight cars. so i don't really think i got ripped off or anything, i see just the track selling for that on ebay. i just wanted to know if anyone else that was fromiliar with this particular set knew anything else about it. i don't really like bachmann. but i had a lot of there older stuff. i baught a marx union pacific diesel freight set with a cheap dc lionel set, and i got a newer bachmann train set still in the box. all for 40 or 50 bucks, i set up the bachmann set and was really amased at how smooth it ran compared to the older stuff. i didn't ask for everyone to tell me the quality of a bachmann train set. i'm fromiliar enough to know the older sets are not that great. i would still buy one for 10 bucks for my future kids to bash. nothing is really "junk" in my opinion some kid might like to have a electric train set and all there parents can afford is a older cheap bachmann set. vs the newer stuff that is rediculously over priced...

thank you for the ebay listing i put it on my watch list, no i'm not the one selling it. but i will watch it and see what it sells for. i'll prob. hold onto the one i have for a while just for the simple fact it was only made 2 years. it does say limited edition as well. you never know, maybe one day it will be worth something if it's not now.

bachmann also knows there older stuff was not that great and has a excellent return policy if you choose you can have a brand new engine sent to your door in exchange for your old broken one. they may charge like 10 or 15 bucks or something i don't remember but that's still good.

Glad you could see through the fog that blew through here :) . You have a very sensible and pragmatic attitude.

Here here. Sure makes a whole lot of difference when both sides are fully explained. Unfortunately that's more often necessary when it comes to text discussions.

Now if I may be so humble to say, Welcome to TrainBoard. :)

guess it wasn't too bad of a deal, i got a lot of track that included prob. 20 switches, the tgv set and a playart steamer for 40 bucks. i've finally decided to post it up on ebay, and this is what it's at so far...

classic bachmann tgv passenger train set with box. - eBay (item 150560739478 end time Feb-13-11 19:49:14 PST)

btw, reason for replying is i was bored and decided to do a quick google search on the set and this site is the first one that popped up. figured it may help someone else in the future.
