My first attempt at weathering

    Here is my first attempt at weathering using chalks/pastels at an Atlas 3-bay hopper. I think i went a bit too heavy with the matte finish but it kind of gave it a grimy look so I guess not too bad

    One thing about weathering...there aint no wrong way! Weathering is NOT consistant. You arent painting stripes on a car or loco. You will never see 2 cars or locos 'weathered' alike even in the real world. Can there be too much? Nah...not in my humble opinion.

    It does indeed look nice, but I must agree it does need some added dirt on the top. But keep it up your on to something there

    looks good to me. In time, with practice you will get better. I have yet to weather any of my N scale.

    If you want it to really look like the real thing, you need to obliterate the reporting marks with graffiti. It looks good, you've got more nerve than me!

    It looks good to me. The top does look kind of clean, but I be happy to run it as is on my layout. You did a nice job.
