If that's a pre-production model and there are changes to be made before the final production models are made and shipped I can't see them arriving this side of Christmas or even later, but that's a good thing if they look and run even better than the one in the video.
Me, Bad!! Forgot to mention this last week. Matt from FVM, dropped by our club's (MNSE) Christmas party on the 21th with some interesting presents (I WISH!). One complete Hiawatha train set, which we ran on a temporary track setup, that one of the members had brought down. It ran pretty sweet, look really good (OK Great!). Too bad they are ALL sold out!. That means, I will have to wait for the 1939 version I guess!! He also had some cars from the "On-Wisconsin" announcement flyer. (posted at the National Convention in July). Which means, I should be getting those pretty soon.... Jerry G.
NScalerML - He was very busy talking with our other members. And my interest was more into the "On-Wisconsin" boxcar announcement. I do recall that the date of December 29th was brought up a few times. They are in "the pipeline", I just dont' remember if that date meant that the sets were. "Shipping out" or "on the boat" or "will arrive". You Hiawatha owner's shouldn't have that much longer to wait .. Jerry G.
One of the online dealers has just posted this. "As we understand it the container has left China with the Hiawatha's. If this is correct then we expect to see these arrive here in the first part of March."
I have no problem waiting, the Hiawatha Set is going to be a major expenditure which I am almost fully saved up to purchase, a little more time will only help me. I have that and one other major Santa Fe purchase to make and then I am not spending anymore until Fox releases the GP-60's. My finances be need "N" a break. fatalxsunrider43
Good... that gives me about 6 weeks to ponder. Will I... or will I not... that is the question. Or actually... the queston is... has this already SOLD-OUT?
Thought I'd share this here. Just saw this limited time re-release on the GHQ website. Milwaukee Road F-7 Hiawatha 4-6-4 Hudson
Tony, do you know if the N scale Hiawatha will be an easy DCC conversion? FVM's web site says the loco will be "DCC ready" but the description seems to be a common one for both the HO and N models. Just wondering how difficult it's going to be to do my usual 2-decoder conversion for sound for this. John C.
John, I haven't seen inside one yet but I think it is set up for a decoder in the tender. I can't remember from the pictures but I believe it may already have a speaker grille in the bottom of the tender.
Container arrived this week so distributors should have them out to hobby shops next week. Can't wait!
John, Need to find somebody with the full version of this video.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BCRoCgbRWjU&feature=related Too bad this doesn't have sound... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cph7KwNMon8&feature=related
I've got the Glory Machines video but I haven't watched it for a while, I think the Hiawatha footage was mainly of the hudsons. I'll have to watch it again when I get a spare hour or so, they are interesting videos, when you start watching one scene you can't help sitting through the whole thing.
