    8. Please use the Video Cutting Room Floor thread for related but ineligible videos.

    9. A clever and distinctive title for your video helps identify it among voters. (And makes it easier for me when posting the poll ;) )
On August 1st, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of TrainBoard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. Voting will last 6 days. You may vote for multiple entries. To do this, you must select all entries for which you wish to vote at once, and then click the submit button. We ask that you view all videos before voting.

Please follow instructions on this thread for recommendations and instructions for working with video files online and posing them to TrainBoard. If you have any further questions, contact Mark Watson or simply post them to the thread and someone will get back to you asap.

Almost half way through the month. We must have some big layout tours coming, taking everyone a while to get those videos edited. Am I right? :D :D

Instead of having a Modeling Photo Challenge this weekend, I'm giving everyone some extra time to get their layout/local tours filmed. :D :D ;) ;)

The Belmar Valley - My Road to Nowhere

    Okay - I'm in!

My very first video layout tour. There's still a lot more scenery work yet to do, but this is what it looks like these days. Hope you enjoy it.

*edit* Entry updated, see Post #14 for new version

The Belmar Valley - My Road to Nowhere (redo)

Is it okay to resubmit my entry? I redid it to fix the rough scene transitions. Other than that, it's the same video footage:

Uh Oh Carl, It shows your video was uploaded June 11th, 2008.
Absolutely, change your entry all you like. Just make sure you've got the one you like chosen before the deadline. No more changing after.

I don't own a video camera but a good friend loaned me his so I could experiment on the layout. So I will submit this video for my contest entry. This is my first effort at video so we shall see how it plays out. One thing I don't like is the jerky video from the net vs what is on my computer which is very smooth.

    Great video MOPMAN.

The jerky motion is a frame rate error. Somewhere along the lines of transferring your video from the camera to the computer, and from the computer to vimeo, the frame rate was set to something that didn't match the original footage. It can be difficult figuring out the exact settings certain equipment/software uses, but in your case, the jerk is almost unnoticeable. I've seen much much worse. :)

Thanks for the explanation Mark. I just think it is a shame that with all the great layouts that are shown on this site, it just doesn't do justice to the fine work that I see displayed in pics on this board. I've seen newbies that do much better work than I did when I first started building layouts forty some years ago. But then I didn't have the help that comes with being a member of this forum. I must admit at that time Al Gore hadn't invented the internet yet LOL. Again thanks for your kudos on my first vid.

Another four great entries for the Modeling Video Challenge.

Remember to watch all videos before voting. I also encourage everyone to rate the videos on their respective video site. :)
