Request for Info from Huet Customers

    Hi,

If you would like to share information (emails, dates, amounts) regarding Gerard Huet, please contact me. I'm posting this on several boards in an attempt to gather as much info as possible, in the event of legal action.

I wanted to order a switcher, but didn´t want to give my credit card number and PayPal wasn´t accepted. Puh, good luck.
I hope for all of you that it works out in the end and you´ll get a nice, decoder equipped switcher.

For sure, Monsieur Huet's newly established customer service standards are not helping small, especially new Z-scale manufacturers...

    Curious Silence

    Hi, All,

Mr. Huet knows from the tone of my email last week that I am suspicious that my CN and CP engines were not ever built--wobbly wheels or no wobbly wheels. You would think that he would want to reassure me and everyone else by sending photos, but instead I get no reply--and yet he has added other things to his website in the past week. If I get no reply Wednesday, I'm posting a chronology and a letter written to him everywhere I can.

Alex, was the daughter here in the US? If so, I would start there. If you don't have a phone number for her, I am sure we can find one. I bet if she started receiving phones calls from inquiring Z scalers, she would be asking Dad right away what is going on. Also, any payments received by a US address fall under US law and this could be considered mail fraud if the payment was sent via check.

I am still hopeful that Gerad will come through. But like everyone else, it has been a while since I heard from him.

Alex, can you share the daughters name and address? This would be helpful. I am sure we can locate a phone number for her. A call might help to move matters forward.

Gerard had contacted me about his line, which is why we ran the article in Ztrack. He was also working on new projects that we thought would be of interest to our readers. Ztrack was to receive samples for review. But after the initial flurry of emails, our inquires have gone silent.

    Yes!!!!!

    We have "GERD"!

    We Have "GERHARD"!

And we have the man in question, "GERARD"!!

For a fast thinker/typer, it wouldn't take much to get them mixed up!!!!

Alex has provided me the daughters name and address and I already have come up with a an email address for her. I have passed this on to both Alex and Brian. While we hope it does not come to this, mail fraud is a very serious matter. If any of you sent money via US mail for a service or product not received, the US Mail has an online form that you may submit. Here is the link:

Thank you, Rob, for the link. I have today been in email contact (some frank exchanges) with both Mr. Huet and his daughter, and am awaiting photos promised to me tomorrow (Thursday night). Tomorrow I will post any news or lack of news to keep everyone up to date.

This is what I really thought was happening... people just cannot begin to understand how a seemingly manageable small run project like this can evolve into one of those " I dread the thought of going to the workshop and tackle some more trains for people" projects.

I myself have first hand knowledge when I offered my 70 ton covered hoppers in pre-built form and the orders poured in. I put the equivalent of $500 worth of overtime at my day job into each 3 pack I sold for $100.
At the same time I stayed home from work those mandatory overtime weekend days just to be able to ship the kits on time, when I should have been going to work at the day job so I could be in the running to keep it when the layoffs come.

The gist of it is, I am sure these will be a fantastic and rare piece to add to your collection when they do arrive, but this is an extremely overwhelming project if you have more than a few locos to build! You want to do them right, but some small step in the process makes the whole project turn into a daunting task! :D Been there, done that, and so have so many others in Z!

    Whoahh! Hang on, Everyone!

I better let boardmembers here know that as of today I have seen four photos of a partially disassembled unpainted switcher. For all I know these pictures could be months old. From the state of the switcher I cannot say that I am about to receive anything. I have read promises that I will receive photos of the painted engines (again, I've only seen one of the two) in an amount of time that is unrealistic, knowing what I know about how long it takes to paint and decal anything. When I have something to report/show the boards I will let everyone know. But please don't draw any conclusions yet!
