*SPECIAL EDITION* Weekend Modeling Photo Challenge "Boxcar(s)" Ends Monday, September 20th. *Please read all rules as they ARE different from previous weeks* If you notice a typo, error, or confusing statement, please notify user Mark Watson immediately for correction and clarification. *Special Edition* For this special edition of the Weekend Modeling Photo Challenge each member is tasked to create up to 4 images that together tell a story of railroading or modeling. (And makes it easier for me when posting the poll ) 10. Photo editing and enhancing is perfectly acceptable and even encouraged, however the subject and focal point must remain that of a physical model. On September 21st, all entries will be put up for a public vote, in which all members of TrainBoard may vote for their favorite entry(s), regardless of whether you submitted an entry or not. OO the anticipation. I can tell that everyone must be putting tons of thought and effort into creating their photos this weekend!! Just dont put TOO much effort into it. Deadline is Monday!
Bump. Its Sunday night and no entries submitted yet?! Oh boy oh boy, you guys must really be pulling out all the stops to make your photos great! Either that or everyone's just forgotten about the challenge this weekend. And that would mean its the end of the world! Ok well.. maybe not exactly. Don't delay! Deadline is tomorrow at midnight!
Mark, another time I might have had the energy, ideas, and time to stage and shoot four different shots of one or more boxcars, but not this weekend. I don't know how others are dealing with the parameters of this contest, but I just can't do it...sorry, Bud.
A day in the life of PRR 40' boxcar No. 47003. Loaded from a truck on the team track. Switched into a local. Switched into a through freight in the yard. West bound out of the yard.
We're being watched. A familiar resident of Thunder Ridge watches the river valley from his favorite high perch as a string of boxcars snakes its way through the valley below.
Excellent photos! I hope you dont mind, I condensed them all into a single post. Just makes it easier to see them as a multi-photo entry (at least I think so).
Thanks, Mark. I tried, unsuccessfully, to put them all in one post. Don't know why I couldn't. BTW, love the eagle in your photo. DJ.
Odd Duck Passing Through Nice entries so far! Almost makes me not want to enter this... I was pretty busy this weekend but I managed to snap off some photos for the contest. So here's the story of an odd duck passing through: While out rail fanning, I caught an inbound ACL coming up from the south with a strange visitor nestled in between a couple 50 footers. Is that what I think it is? So I followed it into the yard in time to see it being set out: Yes, that's an old 40 footer. Haven't seen one of those in ages. Last one that came through this yard ended up as a storage shed on the far side. Would this be the fate of this one too? My question was answered as it was soon set into an outgoing N&W train - heading west. Don't know it's fate or if I will ever see another one like it again.
Tagger Loose in Nashville While railfanning the Nashville and Eastern I spotted something going on around the Budweiser siding.I seen somebody hiding out so I set up my camera and caught this going on.First I got a shot of a well used boxcar sitting in the siding waiting to leave. And out of the blue a tagger emerges out of the weeds with spray paint in hand. Apparently he had a few colors in hand. And in a blink of an eye he was gone.Another tagged car.
Looks like another tight race; for second place that is... :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin: :tb-biggrin:
Congratulations Tbone! Looks like you're sticking with the graffiti focus for this week's prototype challenge too huh?
Hey thanks everyone.I had fun with this weeks contest. There were some awesome entries this week. And yes Mark I stuck with the graffiti this week in the prototype as well.LOL
Congratulations, Tbone! I've got my eye on you. If I see your tag on any of my N scale rolling stock I'll be on the lookout for your plastic alter-ego.
