David, with your permission, I would definitely use the first part of the clip in the L.G.Thek Brasswork advertisement :0)
That little charming "rascal" is running around and making trouble for the big boyz. :tb-tongue: I like the little bug you have made Lajos lots off potential. -
for 2 axle pickup, it ran flawlessly thru the new Rokuhan turnouts without problems. It stumbled through the MTL turnouts from what looked like points power issues. It is going to be sooooo nice to have a switcher! .
How are these units modified to add couplers? How difficult is it? Could any existing shells be used on these (like the Hallmark series)?
Rebel Switcher - Z scale by stonysmith on Shapeways The abouver link is to Ston SMith's shapeways body to go on this chassis. http://www.zthek.com this is the link to purchase this power unit. The chassis has barss tab front and rear to mount couplers on (905). Dave Lancaster shows one running in one of his 3 vedeos from Ontario California train show in May and there are other videos around showing this unit in operation and pulling strings of cars and with installed decoder.
Garth, I thank you. Are these units being shipped or are they still in production? Does other of you have units? Garth are you happy with unit you have? Thank for links.
I need to chime in here. The output of chassis production is improving, but still slower than planned. Next week will be the breakthrough, all the backorders will be shipped, including Garth's chassis. After that, a sizable inventory will be built to satisfy all the new orders and support Stonebridge Model's upcoming "Rebel" switcher shell sales. Also, after the unplanned sudden halt, product development will be back with some very interesting models. Thanks for your support and patience.
No my chassis is still to come and if you are looking for a one stop shop try stonebridge models Stonebridge Models
The chassis is great. I also recommend buying from Karin at StoneBridge Models. She's a great woman to deal with... friendly, great customer service, honest shipping prices. http://www.stonebridgemodels.com/locomotives/index.html
