Will the Twin-Stack have body-mounted or truck-mounted couplers? I own a Burbank-era DI Twin Stack (TTX) with truck-mounts and a more recently-released Twin Stack (Conrail) with body-mounts. The announcement only mentions they have knuckle couplers.
Metro Red Line, These will have truck-mounted couplers. My Conrail sets have trucked-mounted knuckle couplers and I was not aware that any Twinstacks had ever been sold with body-mounted couplers. I will do some hunting around in the archives in the morning. Dave
Lots of goodies!! I'm going to need about a dozen packs of the green EMP containers. Have you seen the new UMAX containers? Need some of those, too.
Metro Red Line, Thanks for the photos, are you the photographer? I did see the Athearn announcement but we will not use another company's models as a substitute for research and photo evidence. We still need shots of the nose and doors to get a project going. Dave
Dave, UMAX would be a good choice; it looks like your 53' corrugated is a good match to these cans. There is a growing collection of photos on RRPictureArchives: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/rsPicture.aspx?cid=19&View=1&road=UMXU&Page=3 such as: http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2344812 This particular photo is not a great shot of the UMAX, but it also shows a green HUB Group can that I'd like to request. Looking forward to the flood of new releases! Will you be updating your reservation order form soon? Thanks and cheers, Gary
Dave, The drought is over..... The past two months you have, hit it out of the park! More pre-orders for me in such a short time frame, even when DI was still in Burbank. Great job, glad you are getting products out again.....
Dave, do you have any idea when the UnitPak Freight Car Storage Boxes will be available again? I could use a bundle of them! Buzz Lenander
I was not the photographer (found via Google image search) but neither was it an Athearn photo; was merely pointing out that UMAX containers were already available in the HO market. I would have taken a picture myself but it was night and the train was moving
Gary, Thanks for the link, rrpicturearchives is one of my favorite research sites. The UMAX body has a few more corrugations than our can but is not as much of a cheat as the J B Hunt can. Same is true about the green Hub can, which I thought was announced already (but we planned to.) I am very busy taking orders from dealers and getting the production arranged but I'll try to update the R.O.F. soon. Dave
SknarfWl, I am glad you're supporting our efforts, thanks. It feels really good to get production going again! Dave
Buzz, At the moment, all production-related work is done by me. As a result, I just do not have the time to get the UnitPak boxes redone too. But the new factory will need to make them for the 10-packs so the plan is to see what kind of quote I get from them to do the separate boxes and go from there. I hope to have that done by mid-year. The Twin Tub will be back in production very soon and there are 10-packs in those runs. Dave
Metro, No disrespect to you or Athearn, but what is out in the HO market just doesn't matter to my thinking. I saw a few of the UMAX boxes in the Chicago area in November but was not able to get any photos as I was driving and they were also moving. I knew then that they would make a good product. Dave
