Just received my Land O' Lakes Reefer. Simply a new standard in Z rolling stock. The printing is something to see.
Yes, these and the new PFE's are a WELCOME sight ! These have new underframes compared the previous 38' Nn3 versions and look good. Would like to see more of these bill board era cars. There is a guy on ebay selling 'reprints of those old 38' cars, printing a 1 piece 'deca', including the door, to overlay on the original Nn3 38' reefer. Looks good, especially from 3' .
I'll have to start collecting them. I want to pull strings of them behind my AZL Mikes when they come out.
They do look great. I wish MTL started out by offering a 4-pack, after all SP did entire trains of these reefers. Also, it would be nice if they produced a model with the roof hatch open. I think I see why MTL was anxious to produce these. They can produce a collectors series of the various ads. Mark
Just got my reefers today and are they lovely and with body mount couplers no less so just had to change the plastic wheels for metal ones. They sure look nice and like Robert Ray I am looking for more. cheers Garth
Garth, I'll be happy to sell you an even gross of the next ones that come out.......or if you can't afford that many I guess one or two singles would suffice too..... )
I was hoping for metal reefers. Anyone planning on making metal reefers like the ones PennZee made? John
