I got a few odds and ends, but best of all a pretty decent tripod. No more shaky videos of PNWR action from me! Or having to awkwardly sit my camera on the trunk or hood of my '89 Ford Tempo. See the problem? I'm pretty excited to get back to Corvallis and test out my new toy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W7d1A_SHGeY
Just what wife told relatives to buy me, about $200.00 in gift cards from our Local Hobby Shop (Scale Reproductions, Louisville, KY[Support Your LHS]) PLUS wife (Treasurer for the INDIANA RAILWAY) wants me to buy another steam engine of my choice w/decoder if needed. I'll be ordering another Con-Cor 2-10-2 and Digitrax DN121IP for it later this week.
Hi porkypine52, Must be nice to have a wife that TELLS you TO BUY another locomotive.:laugh2: Question: When you take MRR stuff across the big ditch, AKA The Ohio, do you have to pay an import tax to get them into Indiana? LOL:we-wink: Gary
all N, all SP, a pair of SD40-T2's, 4 PS-2's, a 6 DVD set of steam train DVD's, a 300 peice drill bit set 4 brewery glasses and 2 large, strong ales to fill them with
Just back from my LHS with money supplied by my relatives. 3 decoders, some track bumpers, DeLuxe Armco kit, MT CSX Ortner car, Atlas 48' trailer, and a new Trainworx UPS dropframe (still have 7 or 8 on the shelf, various colors) just to say I have one. All in all, I was out 50 cents of my own money.
I ended up getting the new "Shortlines of the Pacific Northwest" by Jim Shaw. GREAT BOOK! BTW! Didn't getting anything train specific other than that but I did get a nice tripod so I can take some better photos now!
I got the best present ever, even if it was a day late! My daughter gave my our first granddaughter at 1pm today! That is better than any train!
Yeah, it's a toy... My daughter and son-in-law gave me this for Christmas: As near as I can tell, it has never been out of the box! I'm going to have to do some research to find out how old it is.
Congratulations Dan! I'm still waiting for most of my Christmas presents. The one thing I did have under the tree that I've wanted for forever was my Buffalo Sabres sweater. My wife ordered the other goodies and had them shipped to my parent's place (because shipping to Canada is at most times almost criminal, if they'll ship here at all) and we'll be down there Friday morning. I do know what I got though since she didn't know what exactly I wanted, and asked me which engines I wanted (within reason since we just bought the house) -- from the person who said I had enough steam engines already. So I have 3 steamers waiting for me. Bachmann Class J 4-8-4, New York, Ontario & Western 2-6-2 , and NYC 4-8-2. She didn't get the decoders and stuff though, so I ordered those up on my own.
The best gift was having our three kids and their families with us. I must have been a good boy, cause Mrs Claus gave me these .......
all i got was a NEW camera. nothing train related BUT now i can take real pics instead of useing the cell phone for pics...
I got to watch my grandson play with the new little "Unitrack" layout I built for him.........."priceless" :tb-cute:
