I picked up a runner 4 pack of MT Rio Grande stock cars at the train show in Houston today. Already weathered and run around the show T-Trak layout a few times.
I've been watching this as well. Can you do a review once you get it in hand? Would like to get more details.
I've spent the last few weeks gathering Bachmann shorty passenger cars for my current project. I'll get some photos up soon.
I'll do what a I can, when it arrives. Gonna be a couple of weeks at a minimum. I'm curious as to if I'll be able to convert to Micro Train couplers! Still want to do more, and find more information about it. Or the 24 others built at the time.
Went to Dupage Show today. Picked up 3 Concor bi-level coaches and one cab, all in CB&Q. Got an Atlas 3-bay covered hopper and 50' gon/w scrap load, both in EJ&E. Also found RC coil car kit in CSS. LOTSA' vendors missing this month !!! Probably because of stupid weather we had recently !!!
Robin and I just came back from the Gadsden Toy Train show in Tucson and had a blast. Got to run trains on the N scale layout and bought some Lionel repair parts as well as a couple OLD Kadee N scale cars in ATSF, a couple Alaska RR cars for grandson (hooked on Railroad Alaska on TV) and a few discontinued structure kits. Robin and I found a great miniature store and she bought a bunch of 1/12th scale stuff. Nice little show over there (for the southwest area). Mike PS saw a very impressive Lego layout there by the folks at http://cactusbrick.com/
I got these today. These passenger cars are the first part of the Kato Orient Express set. If you have never seen these cars up close, they are absolutely stunning to see. I have never seen paint and detail on a passenger car like these. Next is the Kato steam loco (2016-2) that pulls these. Thanks for looking.
Just got notice, that my latest has been shipped. Cannon should be here between Jan 24 and Feb 7. Photos and a bit more when it arrives.
but down a big bill at one of my favorite train stores yet left with only scenery material. Dang!!!!!!!!!!!!
I stopped by the LHS and picked up a few things. -ME Code 55 Flex -Conrail and CSX blue acrylic -ME 80' deck girder bridge kits (x2) -#80 drill bits -WS foam roadbed And this puppy: Couldn't help it... love the paint job. I have plenty of room in my fleet
An Arduino Uno. After talking to someone in the know about Oscilloscopes, they pointed out how the Arduino could be used as a cheap one without fear of waste once I need to upgrade to a "real" scope.
Did I ever mention I'm not a fan of the Union Pacific... Hopefully will have some PCM Union Pacific E7's for my Kato City of Los Angeles coming this week. I decided to skip the Kato E8's in favor of the PCM units with the CoLA lettering on the engines... just looks more cool than 'ordinary' numbered only E8's.
A quick check on my most recent purchase says it processed Denver today, Jan 18. If I'm right, it should arrive here on Monday! Photos and a quick review shortly after that! getting excited now!
Cound you just imagine the recoil from firing a round from that gun? Devestatingly scary yet an awesome piece of WWII history.
There is a Mom & Pop hobby shop (mostly RR) in Marinette and they have a lot of stock that is not moving so.....I moved 6 D&RGW box cars and 2 gondolas for them.:funny: Then I went to Green Bay and bought a D&RGW 40' semi trailer and another D&RGW boxcar. I am starting to get a pretty nice consist put together.
IF I could afford the trip, I'd love to go to Ft Lee, MD. The original gun is on display there!! Wonder if I could get train consist, if I were to contact them?? Took at least 85 people to operate the gun!! I know at least 4 cars needed: Diner, 2 coaches and a reefer to munitions cool. Plus small diesel locomotive. Should know more tomorrow, as car should arrive! 4 days ahead of Ebay earliest arrival date!! Definitely more when I get the chance!
Hate to put a damper on your spirit Keith, but I don't think the post office is working today (MLK Day).
