I was cruising Kato's website today looking for parts to kitbash with and the Mike no longer has a parts page. I hope I can get some parts from their parts department with a phone call.

They are still there, you just have to go to the Purchase tab and click on Kato Direct - Parts. Then choose the Mikado for that option.

Still, if there's any parts you think you might need in the future it could be wise to get them now, with the Mikado out of production for some time now they will only get scarcer.

I keep hoping that Kato will release the Mikado again at some future date, maybe with a more DCC conversion friendly design.

I too am hoping they do. They are going down this track and not sitting on their behinds with their Japanese steamers, there is the D51 2-8-2 (which is coming out shortly in an 'in service' version versus the last D51 498 excursion engine release) and the most recent C62 4-6-4's are even new tooling from the last release only a couple of years ago.

If they do though, it will mean part for a new version won't fit the old, so either way if you want parts for your Mikado grab them while they are there.
