Your modeling skills are superb. The level of fine detail, combined with a dose of realistic weathering almost makes it difficult to believe that this is an N scale model. Very impressive indeed. I was just wondering as to how much time was invested in producing this model, from beginning to end?

I was able to complete both cars over about a week, and I also built two bodies which I painted but did not decal or detail because of "issues", which NSK is addressing. We had a fair bit of to-and-fro email-wise as various things were discovered during assembly. I think they will be re-doing the whole kit with redesigned ends and new, slightly stronger and more prototypical etches. The car you are looking at has had a fair bit of tweaking, including milling off parts of the end platforms and building up of new truck bolsters, both issues will be corrected by NSK. You can build the kit as is, but at this stage, it's not for the beginner or the feint of heart. I'm looking forward to the "version 2.0".

Richard - thanks, but you have done a really good job on these. Thank you for posting the final pictures. Alan is spot on with how well you have weathered these cars - the cars make a great impression.

and thank you for your help. As a consequence, there will be some amendments to the kit following the comments here. The cars will be even easier to build - and we will be addressing the points made above, especially to take the 100t BLMA truck, and amended etched grabs and floor.

    Peter,
Any update on the "updates" coming for these kits? I have been waiting to purchase until the "newer" kit described in your post above is released. Any news?

    All my best,
    Jan

Odd coincidence - we were working on them yesterday, as we have got some other projects off for the etch process. We may have them ready by the NSE Convention and if so I will bring them with me. If not it should be very soon after.

Apologies for the delay. We do have the TTX decals ready though - but not the white on FEC brown yet though - as we are finding getting a good price for the printing problematic.

Any chance on being able to just buy the TTX decals?

I agree with Ram53 that I can't wait for the updated versions, even though his cars look great.
