I see another caboose pictured, so having one close at hand... Seattle & North Coast RR #991604, Sequim, Washington. Which also carried the same number during days of Milwaukee Road:
Nice photo, John. Why is it whenever I try chasing UP, the weather is gray or rainy? I can never seem to catch them in bright lighted conditions.
Might have something to do with WHERE you're chasing them. So, This was on the way home from a trip to Tucson to visit my Aunt. The entire trip was cold and most of it was rainy. It all broke as we were heading back to San Diego.
I live out in that area, and the local cops and border patrol says to stay off the 8 if you like your life....
Hartwell 4 unit Geep lashup Four Harwell diesels came up to Toccoa, GA for the day. Its an interesting mix of old GP power. HRT 3000, an ex MKT GP40 lead the way with 1973, an ex PC/Conrail GP38, 3044, an ex DRGW GP-35, and fianally 136, one I haven't seen before up here, an ex RF&P GP-35
um, the 8 is where there have been shootouts with the cartel and law enforcement and boarder patrol...and that is the nicer end of that
