Just saw Athearns announcement from the Springfield Train Show.

Genesis GP50's in what appears to be, Southern High Hood, CNW, and Santa Fe. If you are on Facebook, go take a look at the athearn page for the photos.

FYI, Springfield Show is not a World's Greatest Hobby Show.

Love the look of those Geeps. At slow speed they appear to run very smooth too and no noise coming from the mechanism just the sweet sound of the sound decoders...SOLD!!! :)

So, is Athearn going to make genesis versions of the entire blue box line?

    I hope yes!

This is a great time to be involved in HO scale, where manufacturers are putting together superior detailing, precision mechanics, and robust accurate sound at a price where, if we budget and plan ahead carefully, one locomotive isn't beyond reach.

    Santa Fe #3840 looks excellent!

Old thread, but I'm going to grouse. I'd rather they invested more in the RTR line as well. I mean, make more Genesis please and use the profits from that to get the rest of us some DCC quickplug ES44s and SD70ACes. Some of us would like to be able to afford to make a realistic MU set of modern power without taking out a second Mortgage.
